Wow this is the most disturbing thing I've seen in the news in the last little while
"PORTAGE LA PRAIRIE, Man. – Police haven't confirmed it, but a passenger says a gruesome attack on a Greyhound bus near Portage la Prairie, Man., has left a young man stabbed to death and decapitated and dozens of passengers in shock."

"Caton said the attacker appeared "totally normal" earlier in the journey after boarding around Brandon, and chatted with a young woman as he smoked a cigarette during a break.
But when he got back on the bus, he moved his belongings from the front to a seat beside the victim in the back and about 20 minutes later began attacking the man, said Caton. "He didn't say anything to the victim at all," said Caton."

Knives are far scarier weapons psychologically than guns...most people freeze when confronted with them...they freeze when confronted with violence in general...

"The bystander effect (also known as bystander apathy, Genovese syndrome, diffused responsibility or bystander intervention) is a psychological phenomenon in which someone is less likely to intervene in an emergency situation when other people are present and able to help than when he or she is alone."

That's half true Jaline.
If someone get's a leg cut off by a train - it takes one person to take the lead and act - that person can then easily command action from another person... like "you - get a belt".If the situation is a nutter with a knife or a gun though - I'll wager you'd fucking leg it!

And the sad thing is, unlike the movies, the bad guy usually doesn't brandish the weapon in front of you. Most people who get stabbed don't even know they are getting stabbed.
