I dropped (mt). and haven't looked back.
I can't help but feel they are just another brand that used to be good, but now are just hyped.

My website was slow as shit for accessing here in the UK from various locations, so in my support thread I did everything they could think of - and they kept marking my problem as resolved. And I kept unresolving it!
Obviously some part of the GS was being uber slow.l

they are but OSFA must be a fucking neutered gimp. they sent out so many emails and notices about the issue and have so many help pages and info about it you'd have to be some kinda fuckup not to have got the message. OSFA, i'd say 'all due respect' but seriously, i think you get what you got brother.

I say this all the time and I'll say it again:
Grid Service is probably just some hype terminology that in reality isn't anything different in a technical sense than any other large-scale web host out there. Please think about it: Is one guy on the block really going to have something totally different than anyone else in that industry? No. They're all going to do what is a best-practice and works best for their clients. I'd bet that there are tons of other hosting environments doing the exact same thing, they're just not putting out neat terminology and whatnot about what it is that makes their sites and their hosting environment work.
I have nothing personally against MediaTemple, never used then and also never considered them, but time and time again when they come up around here I can't help but remind any of you that use them that you are paying an insane amount of $$ per month for something you probably utilize 10% capability of in comparison to dozens and dozens of equally reputable, cheaper hosts out there.

It really blows, I host lots of clients websites on the server, and they just ring me and expect me to be able to bring it back online...
I think it would cost me too much to change hosts right now =(
Does anyone know why it goes down so often?
- MrDinky0
do a search MT or MT down here

awww that is so cute

Dreamhost all the way, 4 years, 10 sites hosted, so far so good... too bad that "Fopen" function in php doesn't work so I could use some nice apps, but it's not the end of the world, and they have increased my Bandwidth and disk space 600% for no extra charge. use kodap as promo code to get 50%

I used to have their grid service without any issues but recently upgraded to their (dv), dedicated vitual, service due to increased need for control and hosting options which is amazing for the cost. Used to also use hostrocket but recently they have been down more than up seems like so I ended that relationship earlier this year!
