Let's see...a totally untested feature film director with some respect and chops has been handed the most sought-after geek franchise sequel in years. Who knows. I hope he pulls it out. But by the looks of the trailer, I'm not expecting such.

It'll be another over the top CGI wankfest in the tradition of Avatar.

I was reading that the budget, once you factor in marketing and all that, is somewhere around $300 million. Which means, assuming 1.5 hr runtime, each minute cost $3.3 million to produce.

Was reading a film's critics reaction (apparently there was an early screening of the film). To summarize:
-The 3D was kind of lame, but apparently they're still tinkering with it
-The film itself was good
-The soundtrack by Daft Punk was good
-Daft Punk themselves are in the film
-Other than Daft Punk, the film makes use of the Journey song, "Separate Ways."

More new Daft Punk (unrelated to Tron)

Music sound good so far, image wise.........well, i still think that classics should remain as the original versions.
I think this look "too much",..... maybe i'm getting old
Don't tell me that there is no good scripts in circulation in hollywood.
Nowadays it's ,Remake, after remake, after remake....when are they gonna stop?

Just saw the early screening. It looks fantastic. The 3d is a bit funky in some parts but where most movies would slap 3d onto their film as a marketing gimmick, it seems very appropriate for Tron. I like that the real world scenes don't utilize it. (i hope it stays that way for final release) The actors are okay but nothing special from what i saw. Having seen Avatar, i wish they could have done a better job with the mouth movement on the young Jeff Bridges.
It felt true to the first film. Reviewer IS full of shit.
