A friend just called me. In the past he's had some difficulties with his wife, who he cares deeply about. She's had some issues with psych problems, suicide attempts and addiction to prescription painkillers. They went through a rough patch about a year ago and she spent some time in rehab, etc. Things were looking better..and then he got a call out of the blue from the cops yesterday from the cops telling him that she was in a car accident and she was being taken to a local hospital in protective custody. He gets there and found out, well, she had been having an affair, went apeshit on her boyfriend and tried smashing her car into his.
I had no idea of what to say...the dude is fucking depressed...I'm kinda worried about him...

I can tell you this much... For all of the reasons you mentioned concerning her behavior prior, then finding out this new twist... He has every reason to walk away with a clear conscious. No woman is worth that much damage to ones own self and well being.

damn TBO, about a year ago my sister went off the deep-end and we were having lot of trouble keeping the family going, she has been in good shape for about 9 months now. Hope all goes well for the guy. My brother in law and nephew have been through hell and back but are doing pretty good now.

You know I've had some crazy ass girlfriends in the past..and I'm sure everyone here has had their fair share of relationships that go bad in really messy ways...but man, a marriage is a bit different when these things happen than just a relationship because a marriage touches so much more of one's life...and a betrayal within one is so much harder to process...

i sounds like trouble has been brewing for some time now because all this couldn't happen overnight. his wife is making some sweeping gestures to 1) kill/destroy herself and 2) get him out of her life. the boy needs to go on a vacation quick.
