I think critical mass is a biking group in boston, or it may be all cities but basically they all go out and bike or something in the city
- it's everywhere. usually a monthly bike ride.

"22-year-old Patrick Pogan – has been stripped of his badge and gun and the NYPD has "placed the officer on desk duty pending the outcome of a department investigation." The cyclist, Christopher Long, has not commented, but his lawyer said, The video speaks for itself."

here some video from the one in San Diego
I was playing at a gig that night setting up at a club, and suddenly I hear all this noise on the street, for like 40 minutes the only thing I saw was bikes passing by.. it was incredible
- you should come out one time meeklo. it's fun to be part of the chaos.capn_ron
- by the way, that is me on the blue bike on the bridge in the beginning of the video. funny.capn_ron

damn greasy hipsters, holding up traffic for the sake of tight ass pants and expensive tshirts
- jonatne0
Well I'm planning on going. I wouldn't consider myself a hipster, I wouldn't look very good in tight pants. I do, however, own a couple expensive shirts.
I'm not going in protest or to cause any problems. I really do just enjoy biking in big groups.
I do like to see and experience confrontation, so if that happens, I'll be pretty giddy about it. I'm not one to cause or even join in, but I like to watch. Better than television.

TOUCHY SUBJECT! I always thought it was kind of stupid until the earth started heating up and people started changing at a slow pace or not at all, now I am kind of grateful that there are annoying Greenpeace kids in my face every now and then. Someone has to fight for it and look stupid until everything is running its proper course.
- so this begs to ask; what the hell are you doing in the PNW?horton

Fight for it? Critical Mass is about hipsters reclaiming their childhood, as they do with their clothes and lifestyle; they all call each other up and ask, "wanna ride bikes?"
- Meeklo0
for what I understand, its a way to protest the car based transit system, thats all.
Hipsters are there, but not everyone involved is one
- Meeklo0
Since I came from SF I've been debating if I should get a bike as my main transportation. I wish SD was more bike friendly

If u want Critical Mass, go to Calgary office.
- lowimpakt0
i don't bother these dyas but I'm glad they are still going.
the funny thing is... lots of the people I know from critical mass rides 10 or so years ago are now transport planners, environmental policy advisors, designers and 2 are politicians...
