What do you peoples think? It's a dot, no? Took all of 5 minutes to design.

Honestly I have fewer problems with the green dot than I do the uninspired logotype. Yes, it's Apex, and it's a lovely face, but it just seems out of place...
At least it's not Gotham or Avenir...or worse, Helvetica.
- Gotham or Avenir...or worse, Helvetica would of looked light years better.utopian

it shouldn't matter really how long it took to design, should it? you could rationalize that most of the great logos in this world could have been conceived in about 2 minutes with a eureka moment - but most weren't.
- True. When you hire a designer, you're purchasing the time it took to build the designer, not the logo...skwiotsmith
- Simplicity is one thing, but if it looks like it took two minutes to design, then that's not a good thing. It looks like there wasn't much thought that went into it.

I think the sensitivty to their logo type is a bit under developed. It looks clunky and not very sophisticated. I would of liked to see a little play in there.

Like the fella says, it's a shame they didn't just go with a simple green dot. That'd've been pretty hott.

Personally, I don't think it captures the idea of "green," which is supposed to evoke lightness. This could have been better achieved with a typeface and weight that represents that better. Also, what's with the awkward space between the "n" in "green" and the dot. Shouldn't the dot have been to the left. Feels unbalanced.

a little too simplistic. It doesn't describe what they do.
- you would like a tag-line, wouldn't you?! lol.akrokdesign

after using apex new in a program i think it's a little too techy and rugged for this type of application.

it's funny how some QBN's complain about other peeps design while their own shit aren't even up to a desent standard.
i am glad they didn't go with a leaf.
"Took all of 5 minutes to design"
so, you based it on the time it takes. lol. add some dropshadow and bevels. add an other 3 minutes. woohoo.- I really hate this common idea that you have to be a great designer to have a valid opinion on designset
- its just plain stupid. Design is for the average person.set
- a desent standard, isn't GREAT DESIGN. its more like the BASIC.akrokdesign

i agree that the type could have been further explored. having said that I assume the kerning is the way it is becuase the primary use of the brand may be in tv broadcasting.
this raises an interesting question. have you ever designed an identity with different kerning for different applications?
eg. in larger print format, tighter kerning would lend itself a lot better than if an identity were being developed to appear in small scale in the corner of a tv screen. would you design the type with different kerning for each application?

Is the "Planet Green" logo from Logo Pond?
