poster and auction sound great, i just hope you guys (digdre and neverblink) are committed to see this through.
thats where the NT blackbooks have failed. after a year+ scarabin hit a point where he couldn't monitor BB1 anymore and it all went down from there. there was also talk of scanning and publishing or PDFing the book for contributors, but...
anyways if we do make it to an auction i would like to suggest the idea of keeping it private for QBN'rs. that way we raise some money and a lucky member gets a keepsake.

With this project it is EVERYBODYs responsability to keep the site up to date, not just digdre's and mine.
Before you send the notebook out take a picture or a scan of the page you made and submit it to the website.
After you send it out, set your status to "notebook send to next". That way we can track where the notebook is (supposed to be).

I just saw that SIGN-UP IS CLOSED! That means we've reached the magic number of 48 participants..
Let the fun begin!
- digdre0
All new sign ups will be in Book 2!
- neverblink0
Digdre.. I think it's better to re-open sign-ups when this project is really on-the-road.. let's first see where this one will go.. right?
- Okay, No problem.
dissable the sign up function.digdre - or let it open and go on holiday :p
digdre - I programmed it to stop sign-up automaticly ;)neverblink

How's the route going to be determined?
Also, someone should put a QBN sticker on the cover so I'll know that it's not one of my own.

This is a rad idea, I can't wait to see what people come up with.
- digdre0

You dare close the sign-up without adding me? The nerve.
- neverblink0
sorry 2cents.. every page is filled with the number of participants we currently have, but like digdre said.. we have two more moleskines to do future projects with.

I was kidding, I barely have enough time to shit.
Also, being a part of starting the first NTPE and then seeing how half the people flaked out has put me off being involved in these things.
Best of luck, hope you got some solid people who keep up their end.

i'd like to add a little more input coming from my previous experience with NT-BB1... i've voiced this in those old threads but it seems like there's a bunch of new interest here.
i was maybe teh 20th recipient of BB1, and by the time it came my way the binding had completely exploded due to too many people inserting/gluing in pages... i'd guess at least half of the people who contributed had just used the book as a scrapbook/folder to stick in something they previously prepared or printed off their inkjet.
now i'm a big fan of blackbooking and keep many myself and understand they need to be a somewhat uncontrolled creative outlet for us all to flex our DIY muscle, but... at the end of teh day a book's binding edge is just glue and string and can only hold so much.
is there anyway we could make it a rule to not insert pages and encourage everyone to cut loose and work directly on those lovely Moleskin pages?
or at very least maybe some basic instructions on the correct way to cut out a sketchbook page? ie. don't cut right into spread, leave a 1" flap to glue/ tape in your insert.
thanks for listening

also keep in mind that for every person who inserts additional pages for a 2 page spread it completely screws-up the page count and number of artists lined up to contribute. the back of the inserted pages become wasted space, and the book just gets bigger and bigger...
we were half way through the artists list on BB1 and not even 25% through the available pages, yet it was already exploding.
personally i think the ideal scenario would be a rule that your work must be on the Moleskin pages. and it encourages people to get a little creative too. if you don't draw, then cut and paste and collage directly in the book. or if really must work on teh computer for this project (but defeats the purpose imo) then figure out some way to cut-out your assigned Moleskin pages, print on them, and reinsert without damaging the binding, maybe as suggested above.
ok i'm done now. end rant. call me a control freak if you like.

uh oh. i'm primarily a photographer... so i was planning on pasting in a delectable assortment of prints. but i will figure it out somehow (:
