i love this site.
Now, I love that glow like transitions. Anyone got thoughts on best way to do it?

i expected the unexpected for about half a minute.

that site rocks *bookmarked

without looking too closely, I'd say two layers of the same image. one is masked with a wipe sort of effect and the other is just doing a color transformation.

what typeface was that?
- tkmeister0
i did a similar transition using 2 layer of black over it. one completely filled and other that masks out the area you want to delay with gradient edge, or simply use radial gradient to get the glow effect. i don't know if that makes sense.

Filters > Image adjustments and there you can burn to bright or to dark the image. But i think that on some of the pics they used also masks (either vector and bitmap ones).

Its using hard edged masks and previously it was used using burn bright but the edges seem to elaborate to have just simple gradients. any other thoughts?

Nah, its simple. Just use ur advanced color settings and tween out from -255, -255, -255 in the right column

Mr Dinky, follow these steps:
1- Import the picture you want to flash
2- Convert it to movieclip, create a motiontween (frame 1 to 50 for example, frame rate minimum 25 fps for smoothness)
3- Frame 1,select the movieclip, properties> colour> Advanced (settings) the RGB + Alpha values to -255
That's it.
Cheers!- like fyoucher1 said..;)Mishga
- thanks a lot, i will try that out.

Mr Dinky, you must have a black background to achieve the effect correctly.
You can create the same effects with white, just push up the RGB values to positive 255 and the Alpha value to -255. (background white)
Cheers!=)

Mr. Dinky it is called "Image Tinting" and for your viewing pleasure here is a link to a FREE downloadable component for Flash that should assist you...

What makes the transitions important is that they use Inertia.
