love the work and i wanted to know how to do that tv flicker / jitter effect as you scroll through the images. its randomly done and the flicker tends to be different..
is this straight animation?
- lvl_130
that is nice. because it is so random, i would think it's not straight animation.
he could just have a library of layover masking effects with some sort of script that pulls in several pre-anmated effects at a time from a library, overlapping with a combination of color channel tweaks and x and y coord shifts...but really, i am only guessing.
it looks nice for sure.

when there is going to static, you cant click on to move to next image. so i am guessing there is a layer that loads and unloads
I noted that there are up to 3 static types per image and it loads randomly per image / session
- only 3? are you sure? seemed to be a lot more than that.lvl_13

per image? I noticed about 3 different ones per image...
but almost every image its own unique

the static images are loaded separately. once loaded a timer is set. when the timer goes off, whatever image you are on it plays one of the 3 statics randomly.

i want to know how that animation is done. it seems very well animated
- dbloc0
just cut the image up and it's frame by frame. (graphic effects done in PS)

unless you are loading and loading, playing that much image heavy animated would be drag the flash... no?
- those images are so small...probably the lowest jpg setting or gif settin because it goes so quick.dbloc
- true but it can add up...********

good post, i saw something similar but i couldnt see how that can done using full color image.. duotoning it and etc
- dbloc0
let me know what you find out...I'm gonna look around too.

everything the bitmap data class can do:

I am guessing that there is a set parameter and its being used to have some what consistent style but still random..

acording to the cpluv.com post:
"The site takes flash programming to a new level by tweaking the order of bytes that build each image file. The bit-tweaking and re-compressing of the image happens within flash creating a dynamic effect similar to a tv tuner that needs to be adjusted badly. The glitch effect can be increased or decreased using sliders in the menu. The same technique can be used for sound however in this case the sound effects are not manipulated but sampled from a malfunctioning hard drive."

that is very interesting. it seems so simple yet very complex. love it

Bollox.
It's Gen-Arts Sapphire Plugins for AfterEffects, the JPeg Damage filter.
http://www.genarts.com/picture-i…- nope. it's too random. unless you can explain how they got that ae filter into flash.lvl_13
- they...uh...like...
type thing.mikotondria3 - fuckit. I did type something funny there but I guess it's 'not allowed', so fuckit, Im not typing it again.mikotondria3
- haha, that was funny, so you have gracefully redeemed yourself :Dlvl_13

it certainly is accomplished with code, if you look at the images it is pulling in (in safari via activity monitor), you'll notice there are no images beyond the unaffected versions
