These days I think I would pick a career where I wouldn't really have to deal with people, or have minimal contact them.

yes. i would package my mom's products and get them on shelves. only problem right now is she and i have differing ideas on design/marketing so i'm going to wait and do it on my own at some point. getting really consumed with design right now and i am loving it.
- I envy you your consumption with design. I am up for some serious work, but my job is not offering it up.MrOneHundred
- what i found was that if i did the type of design that i'd ultimately want to do then i would get the jobs that matched that work. i've also placed myself in an area teaming with jobs so i can be choosy and confident concerning my needs._salisae_

I would get into real estate. Flipping allows you to combine real estate with a little interior design, landscape design and hands on work. They would be properly researched and financed purchases. Not like these twats on TV who flip using their own credit cards and don't even get property inspections.
They say the flipping craze is dying off, but I think it was just saturated with people empowered by HGTV/TLC and will balance out. I am looking at maybe investing in a foreclosed condo to redo now.
BTW, I am in Canada so the mortgage situation in the US has crippled us... yet.

Photography. Although the more paid gigs I get the more I find it has similar traps as design. A lot of people want bulk work for little money.
