Practical CMS

We been looking into LightCMS as a means of powering smaller sites that we have developed. All well and good, except for some real pain in the arse restrictions in terms of no PHP, and no way of making your own forms out of their quite limited form builder.
So I've been hunting for alternatives, and can't find a practical alternative. Hosting isn't an issue. It seems the majority of CMS' are geared towards blogging, and lack something as simple multiple editable regions on a single page, and multiple levels of navigation. I just want to have 5 or so main sections, and then each section has a number of pages. Does anyone know a good CMS that allows that, and has a half-decent interface that we wouldn't be scared letting our clients loose in?

I think both Drupal and Expression Engine are too complex interface wise for the client. Something like Pixie (which whilst not enough as it currently stands, looks like it will fulfil our needs once it's developed more, going by their roadmap).
I think I'm going to stick with LightCMS and try some nasty css work to get the forms to play nice. At least with this site. But CushyCMS looks good too, for when the client has no need to manage pages, only the content on existing ones.

Try ModX

you have to also consider the user base for any of these. if the community is small, you're less likely to find others who can help when you're in a jam or experiencing a strange bug.

i really like textpattern... its more blog centric, but you're able to do some pretty cool stuff with it..

SilverStripe all the way.. great for the client. drupal is good if you're a developer...
