That seems dependable! Getting excited!

Maybe there is something wrong with me, or I'm missing something but I just don't get Tom Waits at all, most of my friends think he is a maverick, but I think he sounds like when a Muppet sings a sad moody solo on the Muppet Show!

This is good news, I'd love to see him live.
You getting all excited there jersey?- Yes.JerseyRaindog
- But if I can't get tickets I'll be ok. Seen him twice now so I know I'm lucky.JerseyRaindog
- Ah, so you're sorted then! Hope he is touring though, I'd say he's cool live.ian

I like him because I can always picture the places / characters he talks about or intimates. Some of his lines are great too - 'The piano has been drinking', and the talk of a one eyed midget playing pool. Not everyday stuff, although I did know a great pool player who had one arm - he rested the stick on his stump.

yeah it's good but I've heard his voice stronger. I think he struggles with some of the falsetto stuff - check out 'dirt in the ground' against the original - but when he's on form his voice is so powerful.

European dates confirmed.

I have it on reasonable authority he'll be coming to the UK too.
If I miss him, I might kill myself.
- Hey, what's your reasonable authority Moth?JerseyRaindog

- Happen to know if there's any new material with the tour. I though he was Anti these days?JerseyRaindog

I have it on reasonable authority that the ticket price is astronomical and the shows will be pretty small affairs.
- like imagine your highest cost and double it, twicekelpie
- £95 for Edinburgh.JerseyRaindog
- yup, fucking brutal eh? tip: find out where he's staying, book a room in advance, make sure the place has a piano ;)kelpie
- Have you been privileged with a private performance Kelpie?JerseyRaindog
- not personally but I was talking to a guy who has, sounded amazingkelpie

Confirmed. Apparently European dates to follow - from Spain to Dublin.

£95?
Well. All my friends who want tickets can fucking get them themselves!- They'll have to. Tickets limited to 2 per person - lots of security to prevent scalpers/touts.JerseyRaindog
- even industry bods are having to pay apparentlykelpie

100+ quid... fuck that shit ... well maybe if it was Scarlett doing the covers I would consider ...

I don't wanna gripe cos I'd love to see him live but three shows in Dublin are in an all-seated marquee in the Phoenix Park (to be called The Ratcellar). Tickets will be €116.25 and €131.25
1. I was in one of those marquees in the park for Arcade Fire, and it was shit and even though Im sure this one will be smaller, I hate marquees.
2. But pricey I think. There are lots of places he coulda played over here that would have really suited his style, but no.
Disappointed now :(
- moth0
The price is rude.
I'd only pay it for him.
- moth0
And I'm thinking Dublin. Fuck Edinburgh ;)
- moth0
*ba bump.
I hope he plays the garage.
