oh. my. gods.
Started off slow. Ended wonderfully.
I think the theory about Daniel being Kara's father is a good one, tank. I guess she was so young she didn't remember exactly what he looked like.

Series finale tonight.

Best. Series. Ever.
Bits of it could've been trimmed - an episode here, an episode there, particularly through series 2 and 3 - but, by Gods, shining brilliance overall. I'm glad they had the courage to end it so thoroughly and whilst I was for a while dismayed at some aspects of the end-choice, the very ending tied it all together so well.
I'll miss Her, but am glad to have known Her.
- Get some perspective man, it's just a sci-fi series! You seen The Wire nairn?max_prophet

Good Ending, allthough I was expecting this. Great series!
- Demi-Spoiler..Nairn
- I loved the [ultimately obvious, though I hadn't pieced it] play between the angels of light and dark ..Nairn
- Gaius & 6, betting odds between the worlds throughout eternity.Nairn
- I mean, of course - he is The Devil, the fallen angel.Nairn
- ho hum. What am I going to do for a decent intermittent syfy fix now?Nairn
- new series caprica?Kiggen
- myeh, possibly - but it can't possibly have a comparable scope to BSG. A different entirely universe is needed.Nairn
- 'different entirely'? hmm.Nairn
- New Stargate series...?TheBlueOne
- You have a sick sense of humour, Blue.Nairn
- Everybody like T'ealc?Kiggen
- The end with Gaius and Six reminded me of the end of the Matrix.juhls

Brilliant ending.
I probably could've done without a Gaius line here and there right at the end, but overall it was beautiful. I almost shed a tear or two.
- SPOILERS -->juhls
- I didn't expect Tory to die, and still not sure if I like it. But her character was finished anyway. Just very mysterious.juhls
- I am so glad that Helo survived. I may be the only one, but I was getting all depressed after knowing about the dead or gone charactersjuhls
- characters, and about those who were leaving to live in places by themselves or relatively alone (Tyrol).juhls

I just started watching it this season. I am on some peoples black list for that ( I work with the ubrerest of nerds). I thought it was great even though I had no idea what was going on. I need to go back and watch the others now.

so was it all a dream or what?
actually I've never seen it....nevermind
- juhls0
marychain, have you seen an episode of the new series?
The old one is probably great for its own reasons, but the new one...

I'm getting more and more sad from thinking about the entire sequence with Adama, Laura, Lee, and Kara, and how alone some of the characters were. Peaceful too, of course, but I don't think about that as much because I don't fully realize how it feels to have non-stop action and turmoil for years in outer space ;) Sounds pathetic, I know. Must. think. about. happier. parts...
Juxtaposing that line Anders said when he used to play sports with his end as a cylon was beautiful.

By the way, I found this conversation at IMDb to be interesting. Regarding the decision to give up most technology:

I hate to keep posting in here and bringing things up, but I was wondering... (view note)
- -->juhls
- Did it bother anyone else that they just destroyed every ship? It seems unlikely that everyone would just agree that it was thejuhls
- right thing to do, even if they were in cramped quarters for years and technology was as bad to them as it was good.juhls
- I get that Adama was still like a king at the moment Lee came up with that, but I think they could've used ship parts for shelter or something. Also, wouldjuhls
- something. Also, would everyone really agree to never leave the new Earth? They are stuck there without ships. I knowjuhls
- the point is that they don't want history to repeat itself, so they have to get rid of most technology, but it's something to think aboutjuhls
- think about. I wonder about technology that has to do with medicine, specifically.juhls
- juhls0
"This 'leave the technology behind' thing would have lasted only until somebody got a toothache."
- ++1 - absolutely! That's the aspect that really bugged me. A true reset with 150k yr catchup would be impossibleNairn
- In their situation, I guess I'd happily renounce megatech and weaponry - but basic comforts and civilisation?Nairn
- Mind you, they didn't have an Internet, so perhaps it's not such a great step down...Nairn
- Yeah, I realized that just about an hour ago. No internet....so maybe it wasn't as big a deal as we may think.juhls
- But they did have ships, so...yeah...juhls
- morilla0
Do they have the previous seasons online? Or do I need to torrent them?
- morilla0
So I take it the Producers were mirroring the show with our current state of society. Which I agree with, yet here I am on the computer.

That was a brilliant, moving, intense way to bring the series to a close. Having just gone through a divorce and losing my father 2 years ago this last episode was really hard for me to watch. If you have had life altering events in your life a lot of what is written into the final episode really strikes a cord.
- It hit hard for people who haven't gone through those things, so I can't even imagine...juhls
