I watch it again, in its entirety, about once every 18 months. If I ever need to just veg out, I watch the first two episodes, which still blow my tiny little mind. So damn good.
The ultimate ending was a wee bit of a let-down, but it is indeedm for me, one of my all-time favourite sci-fi shows.

i remember enjoying the first season somewhat, but the show never grabbed me (at least concerning the amount of hype it has).
it's a good show, for sure good sci-fi, but "best ever" is a bit of a stretch.

As much as I loved BSG, I still never understood Starbuck's story arc in the last two seasons.

I enjoyed bsg because of the mythology,
it was like a space battle opera,
and it is one of the few tv-serie that took the time to develop the characters- um, sure... if Mormonism is considered "development".MrAbominable

except for all the atrociously bad anthropological errors regarding how developed the humans on earth were.. Taken from a textbook from the 1930's or something.. I thought the finale was great.. and had my giant space battle I was craving all season.
Though.. it seemed to happen too quickly.. and then they waste the last half hour peter-jacksoning around with all these teary eyed goodbyes.. which in themselves make no fucking sense.
- There are some annoying flaws if you think about it for too long. The trick is to just believe it's the greatest thing ever :Djuhls
- yeah, lets ANALIZE every flaw in every serie...georgesIII

Some interesting questions are brought up here:
http://www.televisionwithoutpity…Unanswered questions didn't bother me as much with "BSG" as they normally would with other shows. Maybe it's because the writing was still done relatively well.

That was a brilliant, moving, intense way to bring the series to a close. Having just gone through a divorce and losing my father 2 years ago this last episode was really hard for me to watch. If you have had life altering events in your life a lot of what is written into the final episode really strikes a cord.
- It hit hard for people who haven't gone through those things, so I can't even imagine...juhls

So I take it the Producers were mirroring the show with our current state of society. Which I agree with, yet here I am on the computer.

Do they have the previous seasons online? Or do I need to torrent them?

"This 'leave the technology behind' thing would have lasted only until somebody got a toothache."
- ++1 - absolutely! That's the aspect that really bugged me. A true reset with 150k yr catchup would be impossibleNairn
- In their situation, I guess I'd happily renounce megatech and weaponry - but basic comforts and civilisation?Nairn
- Mind you, they didn't have an Internet, so perhaps it's not such a great step down...Nairn
- Yeah, I realized that just about an hour ago. No internet....so maybe it wasn't as big a deal as we may think.juhls
- But they did have ships, so...yeah...juhls

I hate to keep posting in here and bringing things up, but I was wondering... (view note)
- -->juhls
- Did it bother anyone else that they just destroyed every ship? It seems unlikely that everyone would just agree that it was thejuhls
- right thing to do, even if they were in cramped quarters for years and technology was as bad to them as it was good.juhls
- I get that Adama was still like a king at the moment Lee came up with that, but I think they could've used ship parts for shelter or something. Also, wouldjuhls
- something. Also, would everyone really agree to never leave the new Earth? They are stuck there without ships. I knowjuhls
- the point is that they don't want history to repeat itself, so they have to get rid of most technology, but it's something to think aboutjuhls
- think about. I wonder about technology that has to do with medicine, specifically.juhls
- juhls0
By the way, I found this conversation at IMDb to be interesting. Regarding the decision to give up most technology:

I'm getting more and more sad from thinking about the entire sequence with Adama, Laura, Lee, and Kara, and how alone some of the characters were. Peaceful too, of course, but I don't think about that as much because I don't fully realize how it feels to have non-stop action and turmoil for years in outer space ;) Sounds pathetic, I know. Must. think. about. happier. parts...
Juxtaposing that line Anders said when he used to play sports with his end as a cylon was beautiful.
