These rigs look great... I wonder where I could score some...and what price range they are at. Nikon lenses and HD...buttaz.
They keep sucking me back in.

rig is not too expensive, lens adapters are pricey imho, but seems to be well thought out stuff here:

oh and hey have you ever used a rig on a DV cam and ended up with unfocused footage?
Is that fixed using HD res?
- vrmbr0
don't remember ever using with a rig, or at least not as versatile/elaborate as this kit. so i am just exploring at the moment..

my only experience with a rig was horrible. We were using an XL-1 DV camera and a 35 mount with 35 lenses. The footage was nearly unusable and very blurry. We figured if we used HD that problem would go away because maybe DV just didnt have enough pixel bandwidth.

well, that is my issue as well. a lot of the samples i have seen have some blurriness. i think that is what you get when using multiple lenses (you always have the lense of the camera itself as well in the case i posted), and no matter how awesome your Nikon lens is, it has to go thru the tiny somewhat inferior camera lense as well.
keeping the lenses as clean as possible is the only real solution i guess....

this one I especially like

very nice indeed. a bit of vignetting going on, but it makes it all the more cinematic.
- yes and web compression may make it even more noticeable********

this one has some vignetting too but its very vivid and looks pretty good...not sure if the vignetting is done on purpose
- that one seems to be from an hvx... not really the same class, no?Chief

okay im thinking if the vignetting is prevalent...then shoot a dv frame and crop...then maybe up-res it for HD output...
- vrmbr0
looks good. love the DoF here.
a lot of obvious post on this thing though.. saturation etc.
vignetting is certainly in place in this sort of work..

I wonder if consumer sensors have improved enbough where the HF10 is equal or maybe better than the 1st generation prosumer HDV cams
