they'll have to keep the sizes - they changed a bunch of teh sizes over a staggered period of time recently so they wont again. changing the sizes means changing every coin operated machine in the country anyway

the platinum edition will set you back 12 large!!!

haha, or you could just get the whole set for £1.88

are the coins retaining the same size/shape/weight, or are all of you going to look like tourists for a few months until you adjust?

I'd like a set. How much will that be, $400 or around there?

pfft.
rubbish.
The Mint just hasn't been the same since they sacked Isaac Newton.
This a Wolf Olins disaster?

Nice! Best portfolio in the country, cheap and lightweight too.
Shame new coins won't help the economy at all.

Saw this on the news today, the reverse side of uk coins (1p,2p,5p,10p,20p,50p and £1) have been redesigned for the first time in ages. And for the first time they work as a set.

I actually really like the new designs, they've taken the shield and cropped it on each coin which looks pretty modern for a coin plus you can arrange all the coins to make a large shield, the pound coin has the whole shield on it. They chose the design from a national competition and it was a graphic designer who won. I wouldn't mind having my design on our currency, good for the old folio – you can just carry it around in your wallet!
