Funny... I'm currently looking for a new job and nearly all the I go to want guys with heaps of flash skills... admittedly these are agencies. There is still a big demand for good AS developers.
I think old school predominantly timeline based flash is fading to make way for class based AS3 styles. But Flash and it's position in the interwebs is definitely not going anywhere, I actually predict a resurgence.

People will find new ways to use Flash too. Just look at QBN and the use of Flash to display live type on the cover.

I think most people can't tell if a site is using flash, that's what is going on, and that is a good thing.. because it means that the days of long flash intros are coming to an end.
Its more functional thats all.

its come along way just in the last few of years and now adobe have their hands on it i bet theres big plans for its future.

at our work place we are pushing out websites that use both flash components and html.
Really depends on your projects market audience. Take Nike for example all flash bias.
