VDAY DILEMMA

So I had reservations for a very nice, trendy Japanese restaurant that my wife has always wanted to go to here in Austin.
They took my credit card over the phone and even gave me a reservation number.
I get a call a few minutes about (2 hours until y reservation) saying very nicely and in an apologetic voice that they had sold my reservation to a 'VIP' guest.
Now I can't find a decent place to eat that isn't booked anywhere near here.
The weather doesn't permit going outside to picnic or such and I have no more ideas.
Help

Find out how much they “sold” the reservation for and demand a cut – that’s just business.
- morilla0
that is bad business, total horseshit.
- I meant demanding a cut was just business – not their horseshit. That, as you say is horseshit.MrOneHundred
- no no no, my comment was towards what they did.morilla

What a shitty restaurant. Come up with a modest plan B and be honest with your wife - she should be cool - you tried.

Totally transform your place into a diff vibe, like a restaurant. Order Japanese takeout and stay in. Then explain what happened.

get to go sush and think of a rad place to go eat it. explain the whole works to her and she will think you are dope for still hooking up the sushi.
and then beef her* at the location you choose.
*I am trying to get chossy's phrase of "beef her" to become common vernacular.

hah
i'll take your advice and beef my wife mrdobolina
- see, it is catching on.mrdobolina
- when you say "beef", does that mean wrapping your cack in hot dog buns, and saying dinners served when she gets home?imavery

Don't worry too much about it. You couldn't help it. It's more about the experience than the place. I'm sure you can find *some* place that is decent. Otherwise, stay in and have some fun.

that's bullshit. i would be mad, but there is no way your wife wouldn't understand that explanation. just let the restaraunt know you will never be back there!
on a side note, we stayed in and made some home-made pizza with some wine and some decadent desserts and plugged in a dvd (neither of us really play into this corporate holiday). it was great...but now she is passed out and i am on nt :\
ah well, still happy she is mine :D
good night!
