hit up the 95th floor bar (signature room) in the hancock.

unbelievable view, decent drink prices and the atmosphere is incredible. the food is outstanding too. music: metro. double door. subterranean. the note. green dolphin (jazz). too many to list. :)- a VERY nice dinner for two with a bottle of wine will be close to 150-200. call for res and ask for a window seat.kona
- awesome. Thanks!
flashbender - oh, and when you go you'll see a line of "chumps" waiting to get to the observation deck....kona
- tell the bellman you have reservations and shoot to the front of the line, furthering your baller status.kona
- hahah! even better!flashbender

well, the 2 'hip' neighborhoods have been WIcker Park and Bucktown, both serve up a lot of night life on the 'hipster' front. are you open to any kind of food? music?
- flashbender0
Definitely open to any food. I'm there for three days so was planning one nice really meal and the rest something good, but not too pricey.
Pretty open on the music front too. I figure since it is chicago blues and jazz should be checked out, but if there is a good DJ or whatever that I want to see somewhere then yeah, I'm going to that.

- awesome thank you. I knew there had to be one... every city has that but it is called something differentflashbender

Hey, is this thread about Bermuda?

The Reader is a great resource. (above link)
Blackbird, which has been around for a while is always good. Nice, super minimal design, http://www.blackbirdrestaurant.c…, not SUPER crazy price wise, but not cheap.
If you wanna have a 'name' experience, there's Charlie Trotter's, but not sure if it fit's your budget. Same goes for Moto (http://www.motorestaurant.com/) and Tru (http://www.trurestaurant.com/we...
For cheap eats:
There's a place on North Ave in Wicker park, (take the blue line, get off on the Damen stop) called "Sultan Cafe" which serves up city's best Lebanese food- fantastic.A lot of really "big" people in Chicago, so if you're a pizza fan, hit up the classics (and often overrun with "out of towners") like Gino's or Lou Malnati's.
I'm a little out of the loop, moved away 8 years ago but still make it back for holidays and such.
Good luck.

thanks one and all, this helps a lot.

Mrbdonlina, I have long noticed your suggestions in Chicago related threads and assumed you lived here, until I recently figured out that you live in Milwaukee, right? Have you ever lived in Chicago? If the answer is no, I must say, you are a plethora of information. It's astounding to say the least.
- I have never lived in chicago but have spent many weekends there, I have tons of friends in the city, just ask pony ;)mrdobolina

Great food and great drinks:
http://lists.centerstagechicago.…It's on Chicago and Dearborn. Sunday nights feature $5 mojito's and they're damn good. Me and my lady are known as the mojito couple after stumbling out of there one night.
