So i finaly decided to take it to the next level... me and a good friend are opening a business, i knew it was bound to happen one day... we already have a really good client and are prospecting for more... but first things first... altho I have my company tax numbers and legal papers n all, i dont have a name yet...
I am struggling to find something I like, to me the name is extremely important... I dont know why, I know that I am probably being too picky... I know that the name could be anything practicaly and still wouldnt be the deciding factor of a successful business, but to me its important... Id like to find a name that connect all the things that we do ( print, web, ads etc all the normal media stuff, but unlike a normal agency, we want to start and develop our own project for which we have no limit but mostly online based... could me communities, or ecommerce site, we have tons of good ideas... )
It seems that anything that I will think of, no matter how much i would like it at first, i can totally destroy it by over thinking, i dont know what to do... ive spent countless hours brainstorming... nothing comes out perfect. I mean its like naming my kids, its something that will stick for life and damn its so hard....
I need some advices... please

Yeah, it's nice to see you trying to cherry pick a corporate identity, and a slogan, and all that shit.
But all that don't come for free!
Call a design firm, pay your money, and take what they put out.

Have you read How to be a Graphic Designer without Losing your Soul? by Adrian Shaughnessy? All about a graphic designer in the start up world. Great way to get your mind focused on some great things. It might help set a direction or path for your business!

no matter what you think of, you will always think of something better. it seems as if you have already concepted, so take your favorites and design around them (the concepts, not just the names). pick your strongest concept and push it farther (you may want to run it past some fellow designers, you may not.)
believe in it. sell it.
if you are wishy-washy about any of it, you are fucked. transparency is the easiest thing to see through. you do not want your company to be transparent. be solid and stand behind.

i would probably go with whatever is resnant to my audience; do you want to go after a special segment of the market? - do you want to center your business in the fashion business, non for profit, being an advertising agency provider? - i would first try to answer those questions... if you have all that figured out, don't go too "crazy". a "crazy" name can close you door and can create the impression that you don't take you don't have a valid, professional opinion. i would go with something timeless and would take into consideration that the brand will eventually expand. - what if you decide to open a motion graphics division? - a web division? - how would that sound with your possible name?
i'm facing the exact same problem right now, but the answer comes when you figure out how you are going to opperate your studio.
good luck.

come up with a random name. it does not have to encompass your abilities. just make it unique. focus powah. design well. bill accordingly.

Pick a random word out of the dictionary and a number between 1 and 9 and put them together.

You'll never be completely happy, if you don't have something already.
I came up with many more trendy names before MBR Studios (not exactly earth moving, but its been very diverse and lasted - my then partner's and my initials combined - we do 3D, web/graphic, motion, kiosks, architecture, interior design).
I'd spend sometime looking and thinking, but in the end just keep it simple. Better to have a business with a simple name, then no business and a good name.
Simple will last.

Whatever name you choose, ensure it is easy to spell! Beyond that, if you are targetting the general populace, make it say what you do, or make it sound productive.
I once had a company that sold legal psychedelics, called 'the psyche deli' - not my idea, but I thought it was clever'n'cute. Sadly, it was nigh on impossible for our customers to work out, and I got fed up explaining it over the phone ("It's like the psychedelic, but without the last C.... what do you mean 'psychedelic what?'.. no, no - i mean 'THE psychedelic'.. oh sack it, send it to my hotmail account").
At the same time, I had another company whose principal brand I had named "the yyy xxx company" (replace yyy & xxx with a location & a product) - everyone could remember this one, and it was this one which made our name and got us in to the press.
On the other hand, if you're not targetting the world at large - call it whatever the heck you like. Just make sure it's easy to spell!

Best Advice: Forget the Name. Whatever you come up will be fine. The biggest hurdle I see in your plan:
"me and a good friend are opening a business"
Ha. been down that root and have the scars and bankruptcy papers to prove it. Business WITH a friend is extremely difficult. Nothing ruins a great friendship like going into business. Now I am not saying that it won't work out fine and dandy for you and your bud, but saying you will encounter situations and stresses that you have not come across in your friendship to date, and will seriously challenge your ability to communicate, because you will be treating business communication as a friendship dialogue (and with it's already established and familiar patterns) which it certainly IS not.
I will ask you the same questions that soe one posed to me at the beginning of a similar juncture, to whit I dismissed as irrelevant (Hey! He's my best bud! which a year and half later turned out to be frighteningly relevant:
Are you both equally invested in the venture - financially AND emotionally? Both have the same clear goals, and priorities?
You may have heard this from other people but seriously sit down and discuss this stuff with your bud...
