I'm not really using it in my car...wanted it for my bedroom, so I'll need a lot.
- SungRyan0
yes, you would need a lot. why are you going to do this?

Just turn the stereo down a few notches instead.

I want something that I could put on the floor...under a rug.
- flashbender0
they make sound proof floor tiles.
http://www.acousticalsource.com/…OR just put down like 5 or 6 rugs.
OR wear noise canceling headphones all the time
OR get a CD of the rainforest and have that on a loop
OR... I could go on a good long time, but I'll stop now.

check www.mcmaster.com and see what they have under sound absorbers.

buy some noise cancelling headphones and cut the speakers off, then wire up rca jacks where the speakers were and run them into your stereo. Crank your stereo up gently and you should get the whole room noise cancelled. Remember to keep fresh batteries in the noise cancelling headphones.
*Note, I dont know if this will actually work but in theory it should.
- polarity is super important so make sure you get it right or you will create more noise.slappy
- Edit: if you try and answer the phone you may not be able to hear your own voice. I might try this just for a laugh for when all the loud talkers get drunk at my house.slappy
