i've particapated in all of the prior 3 and they were quite enjoyable... but... it wears thin when those few don't give shit. admittedly I was late on the 3rd one, but i did in fact come through.

Here's how it should go:
the 14 or so people that participated in the last PE get first dibs on the open spots in this PE. From that point, x amount of spots are open for whoever else wants to participate. The previous PE participants get to choose who out of the applicants can participate. Next, a proof deadline is sent. Images of each person's final piece are sent to a neutral organizer. If no image is sent by the end of that proof deadline then that person/persons are automatically excluded from the PE and an update participant list will be sent out to everyone else to inform them of how many prints to send out and to whom. Next, it's print deadline time. Everyone must email the organizer a picture of themselves holding the actual printed piece(s). This is the final check for true participation; once again, if necessary, the list is updated and distributed. Finally, it's mail deadline. Everyone post their date of mailing on the message board area of the PE.
Sound good?

....so you're volunteering to organize this? i'm down with the system, the only request i'd make is that the organizer not publish the pictures, i like being suprised...
- Point50
yes, there would be no publishing of the proofs. That's why I thought it'd be best for a neutral organizer. That way there'd be no unfair exclusions or peeking at the awesome products.
Shit, I'd organize it. It's the least I could do, seriously. I guess we should start with who actually came through with prints last year.
- MLP0
point5, that's a good idea with the proofs, but that could just turn out like that book project last year.
- I never dealt with that book thing, but here on NT, er, QBN, any collaborative effort is destined to fail, possibly epic-lyPoint5
- was just putting in my 2-Cents. I know where/how I failed and I'm 1100% guilty. Just building off of that.Point5
- just be aware that in your set-up the entire project rests on your shoulders. you flake, it fails.

^ That's true! I totally forgot how we even tried to send in proofs earlier so that everyone had some kind of entry into the book.
FAILURE.

I hear everything you're saying Greedo. Allow me to chime in:
I'm willing to help this move along. I've seen and been a part of the problem in this. If anyone else has a good idea on how to make this work, speak up. It really is a wonderful event when it happens how it's supposed to. I have no problem organizing it, I just need help on best ways to make it happen. Is it possible that there is no way to improve on this?

its really not that hard..
last three times i organized it, i made a landing page clearly stating the terms and deadline.
if they agreed, it tool them to a simple form where they put their name and address.
that was pretty much it. when 30 people signed up, i turned off the form.but at the end of the day, it all comes down to people being genuinely interested and following through.
it is amazing when people follow through and the tubes start rolling in
not so amazing when they stop and their is a large balance of unfulfilled names.
but that's the way the cookie crumbles i guess.
id be interested to throw down on another print. and if someone else wants to take the reigns and organize this piss, knock yerself out!

By the way, the good thing about having every thread every created here is to see how people reacted to things in the past. Whoever is in charge can view old NTPE threads to see what went wrong or who didn't send a print...whatever. It may give you an idea of what to do (or not do) before starting it up again.
- mrdobolina0
fuck it, when I decide to do my new prints I will send a mess of them out to a lot of you.
- emokid0
around 30 or so of my crappy holidays prints are sealed and ready to be mailed out in the coming days. several of you are on that list.
what i am trying to is please feel free to send a print my way even though i am not officially part of the qbnpe. don't let me stop you.
- OSFA0
sounds good Point, so I guess you'll be the organizer. I haven't been part of the previous ones but I'm serious and will deliver, just ask the guys at the NTPHE
- OSFA0
so....
What's the deal?
- edd-e0
the deal is 10-15 nters still need to come thru with prints for NTPE 1
10-12 nters need to send their prints for NTPE 2
and 8-13 Nters need to be banned as QBN promised that to us since they never sent out prints.now its QBNPE? and who is signing up, all those that owe prints??
unless there is something set where i am guaranteed a print from everyone i just dont want to be part since so many slackers love to join.
- Point50
I say kick it off after the holiday season. well, that's what I say, just because I did kind of volunteer to manage it. otherwise, whoever else wants to kick it off earlier go ahead and step up.
- OSFA0
sounds good then Point. You the man.
