Don't drink...that's a depressant...it'll make you feel good for a VERY short period and then you'll feel worse and smell like alchol and feel all shitty.
instead...

Exercise mate. Definitely go and see someone. Don't listen to ANYONE who says pull your socks up or think how good you have it. Dunno your situation but it isn't always circumstantial (i.e. I lost my job etc. ). Change your situation now bit by bit. It can and will get better. There's been some fucking stupid comments in this thread on an issue that wastes so many lives.
Good luck mate, make a call tomorrow and try to move slowly but take steps - even if they're tiny.
Good luck

why are you acting like that flavorfoul.

Well... Im having the same now. All the time when its such weather outside im having this... Depression + huge insomnia.
The only thing i would suggest you - find a good girl for sex, go to gym and shut down your computer.
Dont use fucking pills!

get sleep but not too much - use an alarm even on weekends to get out of bed when you are still a little tired.
then drink coffee right away and keep a fair amount of caffeine in you, just enough to stay below manic/anxious, but to keep you from crawling into bed. trick is dont stay too sleepy or get too anxious. each one of those brings out the spiral of bad thoughts. drink tons of water and eat fish.

And then slit your wrists.
Get fucked.

i am afraid i've never felt that way. most days i love life and soak in everything this world has to offer. optimism is my middle name.

today feels like a "soaked in gasoline and light a match" day

isn't it good to develop some bipolar capabilities after all?
you know, stay fit and aggressive towards the market?

I am a lot like emokid

I hate to say this, but I LOL'd at flavorful's posts.
on the other hand, if you're depressed, drink and mack on every woman you meet until that gets old. then you'll realize that your life really isn't that bad.

but there's a difference between being funny and positive and funny and destructive. sometimes it matters a lot.

I like to listen to the dirty 3 or spiritualized while drinking myself oblivious. But that usually makes things worse, not better.
Too many times the end of a shotgun in my mouth sounds like a pretty viable solution, but knowing how devastated my friends and family would be has stopped me thus far. I tried suicide once when I was about 20, and the horrible shit my family went through was enough to prevent me from trying that again.
Try to get some exercise, it really helps...and if you can, plan a trip, somewhere international and fun, that always gets me excited for life again.
good luck mate.

(Oct 15 07, 10:14)How many emos does it take to change a light bulb?
Answer: 5, one to change the light bulb and four to write a poem about how they miss the old one.

I'm not saying that what flavor said was the right thing to say, but I was just being honest when I said it made me laugh. I'm sure I'm not the only one who did. Maybe interweb forumz and threadz aren't the place to make jokes or be honest... or even air out your emotions or problems.
I don't know, I'm just babbling now. I've been through some serious bouts of depression myself, but whatever...

:(
...
you need to go cuddle w/something fuzzy...
... sorry yer feelin' cruddy... i'm touching myself in a gentle/caring way right now...
...hope that helps.
:)
hehe... hang in there... and if you can... stay off the meds - they're extremely addictive and don't mix well w/alcohol/certain foods/certain social situations etc...
... a little exercise - even repetitive long walks for a few weeks gets your body 'active' chemically in producing normalizing levels in your body...
... also check your diet. :)
