Skate parks?

I'm helping out some friends with planning a website for a skate park they're building. Most of what I can find via google sucks though. Anyone seen any good skate park sites?
Alternatively, if you're a skater/BMXer, is there anything you've ever really wanted to see on a skate park site that would be really useful (or fun, whatever)?
Thanks in advance.

ample photography, popular "lines", any testimonials from notable riders, hours, directions, description of size, event planning if possible, lighted/unlighted, videos shot there, etc.

Yeah. I had already planned on most of that stuff. It seems like alot of skate parks stop at "Here's our hours, here's where we are, here's how much it costs."
They already know I want/will take a ton of photos, grab a copy of the floor plan, videos.
The park is under construction, so I'd have to wait on adding lines, but that's a great idea.

I am a skater but don't do it a whole lot anymore. It's more in my blood these days than a physical thing.
But on a skatepark site, I think it would be cool to see some sort of animated video showing lines through the park, meaning paths you can take to hit good tricks.
Video uploads are a good idea, it helps the people that rip the place up grow their reputation. :D

Def video.
Maybe some kind of documentary style.
Events, contests, all that too.

nah, i'm in kansas, we have a new park in wichita and another in derby, both pretty nice, but not too big.
i'm more familiar with the skate parks in northern california from my time in sf

ah nice. my fault, i thought you were in denver for some reason.
the parks in minneapolis suck. all the city made parks fall under the 3ft. law.
ooooh 3 feet! wow!...but i guess those are the free ones owned by the city. i think there are only 3 others that pay...but i'd rather just skate street anyway.

Really good stuff in here. Thanks!
Doing the whole thing myself, so I'm not sure how much I can get done... but this is definitely stuff to think about, especially with the whole skater profile / video / line thing. Gotta figure out how to get that working.

(Jul 24 07, 08:57)indeed! so you know when it packed and when its good to go
- ethered0
if it were to be completely packed all that would mean to them is that there would be more situations of this happenstance to commemorate the obvious sub-going ons with the unintelligeble neglect of hypothermic measures. Thus the titty.

(Jul 24 07, 10:34)That indeed might be the situation you'll think they would like to go through but what if they are just going through a situation that might not be as simple as what you did just described, what if their only goal is for it not to let the rider that will choose not to stay home, and try to adventure themselves into the so called park in hopes that they will not find it as mentioned before but actually like they wanted to find it, this way the park and the riders will go through a better situation while avoiding the obstacles mentioned on the previous post.

Thats why I encourage circumcisions to all patronizers of this and every other league. Now as we stay on that point, imagine the utter intricacies which is the bill of rights or as my case: Vertigo. You see that which we call the Ether is really the point of all this skate park shenanigan: BOUYONCEY and the like.

The denver skatepark is shit. Terrible transitions and a horrible slick surface.

hardly a groundbreaking website but decent as 'skatepark' sites goes, no?

aahaha
the good ol days.
i used to go to the ramp at scotts house in broughtyferry and then to the factory in Erskine Street and did a wee bit of skating at the nethergate one.
ive still got an amazing video of us lot skating the erskine st. factory around '88 haha.

that article mentions that when the erskine st factory burnt down the skaters got their fix travelling to the cosmos centre in st.andrews to skate the ramp there.
years later when the cosmos centre announced they were to tear down the shed the ramp was in, me and some friends stepped in and said we'd have the 5ft high, 16ft wide half pipe. turned up with electric saws, cut it into 9 pieces then transported it via a trailor bit by bit to a secret woodland location about 15 miles away where we had an amazing summer skating it.
a couple of years later, the woman who owned the woodland got in touch with us and told us it was our responsibility to deal with it as it was becoming an eyesore.
luckily, some local kids cut it up and stole it, putting it in their back yard. problem solved.just thought id share that :P
