I don't think alcohol, but I noticed something the other day.
If you know a lot about wine, you are intelligent and/or cultured, etc. If you know a lot about beer, you usually "have a problem" or something. I find that there are different opinions about this. Maybe it's because each stereotypical "type" of person is distinct, even though it's still alcohol. Anyone else notice this, or am I delusional?

@ Jaline
in a way its true, but if you drink 1 or 2 glasses of wine, it is said to be healthy (antioxidants and what-not). However spirits (and perhaps beer) it is said to blunt your mind. That said, its what the evil media has told me.

I dunno Jaline, after a few drinks, be it wine or spirits or beer Im usually too meesy for anyone to consider me cultured.
Suppose you're right, wine is thought to be far more refined than beer etc. Drink a bottle and its the same effect though.
- Bullshit. (not you, ian) so much to beer, and so praise. notice- it is wine people and culture that will say that about beer tradition ;)madirish
- Aye, but then beer is perceived to be a working persons drink as opposed to the 'luxury' attached to wine.ian
