i must be frank with you, family- the reason i bumped this beer thread over the others, was for the number of participants, not the 'snob' part. i actually began writing in the friday beer, ladies, etc one first, then stopped. i do not like to offend females......or Llyod.

and i am sorry, but anyone who who considers themselves a beer snob/whatever and requests Peroni is insane. hahaha. i drank so much of that when i lived in italia and it is, well..... let's just say i would disagree with that ranking. ;)

Any real german beer IN GERMANY. Somehow if it gets transported or the recipe gets made somewhere else, it's just not not the same.
My first real german beer was unreal...

To be honest it's difficult to tell the difference between most lagers. I hate Carling, Fosters and Bud because they actually taste bad. Otherwise, unless you're talking pretentious brands or micro-breweries, I'd probably fail any blind taste test.

Anyone here brew their own? I got into it during college and now kinda reserve it for the holidays and summertime. I need to get a kegging system and a special dedicated refrigerator dedicated to brewing lagers. Anyhow, it's really fun to read and learn about, and a good way to spend a saturday afternoon.
