time for a new lens.
•135mm/2.0 - $400
•100mm/2.0L - $900is it really worth the extra $500? any examples/opinions? gracias!
FYI I use a 30D and it's mostly for amateur or make-web-elements use.

Why aren't you looking at the Canon EF 100mm f/2 USM? That thing is supposed to be great. Basically L glass.

you answered it yourself:
amateur photographer=no need to spend an additional $500 for something that only carries minimal difference. you could purchase another lens for the cost of that upgrade.bear in mind this is the opinion of another amateur photgrapher that carries around a tamron 18-200 3.5 on his 20d 90% of the time :)

mimio that's what i meant, do i get the L or the standard?
lvl_13 that's kind of how i'm feeling, i guess i was just looking to see if anyone thinks it's worth shelling out the $$$
fyi that's the plan is to get another lens as well, the 50mm/1.4 which i freaking love, just sols some ebay crap so i'm going to use the $$ for the lenses.

For me the difference between and L quality lense and the other lenses are Sharpness, speed and most importantly color. With my cheaper lenses I have to spend more time getting the right colors out of an image than I do with my L lenses. Honestly I feel that I get better colors and quality out of my wife's handled Powershot than I do with my non-L lenses for my 5D.
If you have the money go for the L. It's a writeoff anyway so if yoiu're making good money for this year you can always use a good writeoff.

I have a 350D what is the best option for a wide angle lens?
I have to photograph pretty small interior rooms so I need to get as much in as possible, any ideas peeps?
Thanks

Probably the Canon EF-S 10-22 or the Tokina 12-24. I'm shopping both of these right now. I'm leaning towards the Tokina.
