I find DC and Detroit funny entries for "livability' especially as they are two that are consistantly ranked in the top five per capita homicide cities...Not that I'm hating...I've lived in both for years...just sayin'...funny how statistics can say anything the author wants them to.

Vancouver is a great city
- morilla0
How L.A. made that list is beyond me.
- Rand0
obviously they didn't factor our high murder rate as a plus

"A new Mercer study ranks cities by the quality of life they offer expatriate executives and their families across the world"
expat execs? not really applicable.

Haha, Rand ... I do not like Philly at all really. :X
That being said, I will be up there for the 4th of July and was just there for the Manayunk Bike Race the other week, haha.

The US doesn't do to well for a country that many call 'the greatest in the world'

I've never even heard of Ottawa, why is that on the list. Bizarre.
- 23kon0
what a pile of pish. glasgow getting a mention and not edinburgh. yet even baghdad is on there! lol
- seed0
Does this mean all the US cities not mentioned are worse than Iraq and the Congo?
- kelpie0
I'd rather live in Baghdad than edinburgh...
Kon, its a selective list, and you just rose perfectly to the bait I set you :P nya nya nyanyanya

Vancouvers number 3 eh?
Front page of all the local papers yesterday were talking about how it takes the average person 70% of their wage to afford a home here. With well over 60% of the population never being able to afford anything - including a condo.
Then again this is an article from bussniess week whre cost of living might not rank as high.

We should never have made that 45-story building - now they are taking us for real.

ive been to 7 of the top 10 with work recently, all dull as shit, but safe nice places always are.
give me some dirty excitement everyday

how the hell is Detroit #64?
- kelpie0
its a strange concept isn't it - take 200ish cities chosen seemingly randomly, judge them against each other then rank them according to a system you don't explain aimed at an incredibly narrow band of people.

how can you not like philly?

(Jun 19 07, 07:59)Eh, I have never really had a bad time there I guess to be honest. There are some resident douches but those come with any city.
I think I just like to make fun of it to my friends, since they live there - and being from Pittsburgh there is that kind of feeling that we are a better city I guess, haha (though with about ... oh I do not know ... 3 million less people, haha).
Yea, what am I saying ... Union Jacks pub alone is enough for me to like Philly, haha.
