okay.
but i was nowhere near the 100mbs!
so why the denied upload?
and more importantly, is the upgrade really worth it!?

The upgrade is def worth it if you're uploading a lot of photos. My advice is to use the free version. You can upgrade at any time.

free accounts get 200 photos, 3 sets, and 5mb max file size on upload
pro gets unlimited for $2 a month its worth it

Note: If your free account is inactive for 90 consecutive days, it will be deleted.

The size is mb is one thing. However, the size of the pics itself is another one. For instance I tried to upload a photo which was less than 3mb but the real size of the pics was A2. I had to compress it drastically. Hope that helps.

'real size was A2'?
When it comes to upload size of a digital image, there is no 'real size' in mm, inches or anything.. just pixel dimensions, and file size (MB). DPI is just metadata.

yes, A2 = 16.5 x 23.4
Then I had to compress it. Pixels were around 5000 in width.
