so i just got back from my backpack-rap trip in europe.

all-in-all a fantastic fucking voyage. we basically went about it blindly (as some could sense in previous posts of mine :) no solid destinations, no hotels/hostels booked previous to leaving (except the day we got into amsterdam) and no real agenda other than to not get lost.
I AM PRETTY SURE I AM THE FIRST TO DO THIS!

okay, no. not really, but still! it was my first time and it worked out quite nicely. the global eurail pass also was probably our biggest asset.

a big fucking shout-out sorry to mike and nic for not calling you guys up. hectic first night and we were only there for 2 days :( lame...but what can you do...

i now feel like i need to see so many other things and go see so many other places.

    welcome back buddy..
sounds like a good trip, I want to do it very soon!

thanks meeklo! yeah, it was a great time! but man, let me tell you...if you don't eat pork (in any way, shape, cut or form) be ready for a whole lot of cheese/pasta/tomato/bread/foccac... in your near future.

i'm not sure if i just wasn't looking in the right places (every market i stopped by i picked up an apple or some carrots) but fuck...going out to eat trying to find something besides pastas, pizzas, and sandwiches stuffed with proscuito and cheese was next to impossible. and every vegetable/seafood i ordered was drenched in olive oil! (i understand olive oil is really good for you but come on! i just want some steamed vegetables/fish!)

haha! i'm on jetlag and am on a bitching session! :)
    go meeklo! it is phenomenal!

just off hand, was this your first time traveling, or traveling in western europe?

sounds like you enjoyed yourself. travel is fuel for life.

I was raised on a variety of food that is way closer to european than north american, I actually have to travel far and overpay to get that kind of food here, so to me, will be heaven..
