I got to drive a Saab 900 Turbo, and it was a great car, built like fucking TANK.
But the car I drive was a bit old and the steering did wobble past 80-Mph

yeah, those B5, B6, B7 S4s do not have secondary pumps; ambient air from a garage is not helping them any as they are basically intaking the exaust from the same system.
drive it around sans boost.

i have heard many, Many a tuner ask why someone would want a HAMANN 599- so many things to go wrong (especially body paneling) and just another 'specialist' one must take it to for servicing. ha!- you think those tires are fresh on it? ;)
re: the DBS- there is a guy here in town who has one and i know of 2 in california....... basically i can close my eyes and for a fleeting second i think it is not an english car..... but then i come awake. ;)

dude... the Integrale is also one of my fav's. i think we might be internet soul-people and stuff....
such a crazy amount of power/potential/performance in a production car. very similarly matched (drivline) to UrS. but this thing weighs so much less.
i effing love the dash design and seat upolstry! so choice.

it measures the air/fuel ratios post-cat to make sure you are not running too rich... or too lean.
funny you say fuse @ the ECU- this is a thing to look for in te C4 chassis cars as well. it is a rare thing, but would lead to the rich situation.
is the car still under warranty? cause only that, or a tech who is not well-versed in the S line would replace every single engine management piece post preasure regulator like that....
glad to hear it is running strong.

Let's all take a moment and discuss a very interesting and powerful topic in the automotive world. Something Madirish and I both find ridiculously interesting. Something that was brought upon us nearly 20 years ago and is still -today- absolutely killer-looking.
I am talking about the Audi Avus wheel design and its progress over the years.
What started out on this concept car in 1991
...was later made in 16", 17", and 18" - nearly identical to the concept car's wheels for the UrS4, UrS6 and pre 99B S8s
After a model facelift and new model intros (99B B5 S4, D2 S8, C5 S6, S3) the Avus wheel design was slightly altered, the spokes became narrower and the design became flatter. Some like it better, some don't.
And so in 2003, with the introduction of the B6 S4, the current generation Avus wheel was introduced. More masculine and powerful spokes were designed, and even today on the B7 S4, these wheels are on.
A few questions do arise however. The S3, S6 and S8 was still being produced one year after the current Avus design was introduced - why weren't they given these wheels? Why were they still running on Avus mk 2 wheels when the predecessor, the mk 3 Avus, was available? Were they too cheap to manufacture properly ET:ed wheels for the entire S range so they decided to go with the old design? They did make the mk 2 Avus wheels in two different bolt patterns (5x112 for all cars except the S3s 5x100), so why couldn't they introduce the mk 3 on the entire range?
And more importantly, which is the better looking one?
So many questions, so little time...
