Ticketmaster sucks.
I bought tickets to a show a few weeks back - their site said it was a 10:30 show, the receipt I printed up after I bought the tickets online said 10:30 and the email confirmation said 10:30. I show up at 10:30 and the venue was like "Dude, the show started at 7:30, it's over."
The following day I spent an hour on the phone with them...faxed over hardcopies of all the reciepts I received from them..etc...they said they'd "review it"..they just called me back and basically said I was lying to them. Fuck them..I'm calling my credit card company - this is $300 worth of tickets..

Not to mention Surcharges up the hooha, right?

Knowing that pretty much all acts start at 7:30 or 8, wouldn't you be a little skeptical of something listing the time as 10:30?
- acescence0
this is NYC, a 10:30 show is not at all unusual

Most of the concerts I go to start at that time moural.
Though of course they are not the type of bands that go thru Ticketmaster...
Who did you want to see BlueOne?
Seems weird you did not let us know, hehe...

good luck. they are fuckers.

this brings up an old jingle in my mind...
*singing
"phone first... be-fore you go."

Well it was the Henry Rollins spoken gig...he was at the same place for the whole week but the last night, the Sunday show had a different time - I figured it was bc the venue had another act earlier or whatever..so I bought 6 ticktes...and it was the night of that monster northeaster...And we showed up in the fucking pouring rain...and so did EVERYONE else who apparently bought tickets via ticketmaster online..there were a good twenty peoplpe arriving at the same time and the door guy was saying "Let me guess, Ticketmaster..."

So the ticketmaster rep just called me. She tells me, "Hi, this is
Krystal from Ticketmaster, I apologize this has taken
so long to review this case. Well we reviewed your
case and our investigators have determined that it's
impossible for you to have received any communication
from us or receipt that said that it was a 10:30 show,
so we will be issuing no refund.""Great, let me speak to your supervisor."
"Sorry, that's not part of our procedure."
"Who else may I speak with?"
"Nobody sir. The case has been reviewed."
"So you're saying the faxed copy I sent to you of
EXACTLY what I received from your company on my
purchase of the tickets is not sufficient proof?""Our investigators have deemed it insufficient, yes."
"So you're saying I am lying."
"No, it's insufficient."
"What would be sufficient proof then Krystal?"
"It's already reviewed you will be charged the full
amount of the show.""OK, and Krystal..."
"Yes sir..."
"I will be taking this to my credit card company and
my personal attorney, and may I state for the record
..fuck you and fuck ticketmaster. Have a good day."

that really sucks tbo.
sounds exactly like the runaround i got when i purchased our honeymoon tickets via united's website.
there were two tickets. non-stop for 900+ and a layover in texas for $700.
i printed it out to show my fiance' at the time. we agreed to spend the extra $ on the non-stop.
3 months later they changed our flights to the layover one, no refund for the difference in cash.
so i called them and said they made us pay 200+ more for a better flight, then dumped us down to the cheaper one with no refund.
they said i was lying and the layover flight was in fact not cheaper. i faxed them my printout.
again. they called me a liar, no refund.
i feel your pain.

Blowing up at the end was a nice touch... wait is the opposite nice?
- moural0
Investigators, haha.
Did Krystal sound giddy like she was watching a puppy roll in the snow with a canary on its head?
Anyway, you should be fine going through your credit card company since you have the copies, but good luck!
- flavorful0
*wait what, heh.
- Jaline0
YES.
- digilee0
that's not nice. she was only doing what her master programmed her to do.

that's messed up bluejam, sorry to hear about that.
The only thing is, did you not bother to check the event times on a web site or anywhere else other than your ticket?
Either way, it's still obviously TM's fault and I hope you sue their pants off, spread that bread around! There is NO PRICE you can put on seeing Henry Rollins wax violent on all manner of issues, so I hope you get gazillions!
- jaylarson0
send the info to hank too. some fuel for him too.....

these people love these sorts of stories..

(May 3 07, 09:29)Well I fillowed the link from the venue site, which took me to ticketmasters site listing show dates/times/venue which said "10:30". I purchased the tickets and you know how you get the "Print this for your records.." page..and THAT said 10:30. The email confirmation I got sent after purchasing the tickets says 10:30. SO I mean, is it my responsibility to assume that Ticketmaster doesn't do it's own due dilligence in this sale procedure? They're the vendor entrusted to promote and sell this show.
I just spoke with my CC company to dispute the charges..I'm thinking of calling the local TV station or suing them in small claims court. I'm positive no one from Ticketmaster would show up and I'd probably get a default judgement...
And writing to Hank is a great idea!!

Yeah ticketmaster is a bitch.
just saw tool last night. a $40 face value ticket came out to nearly $60 after their lame-ass "convienence" charges.
threaten them with a lawsuit. its worked for my dad before in situations like this one.
