i'm going to have to quit soon.
in honour of my 30th birthday. it's been going on far too long. there comes a point in life when death is IT.
sex used to be IT, but now death is.
i'm terrified of the effect that it will have on me. i have tried before in the past and the depression has been debilitating. i feel like i can't even speak, think. i know what you're going through. believe.
hang in there, and just repeat to yourself, 'this, too, shall pass.'
make sex IT again!!!
:D

Go out and enjoy the nature by making sports (run, bike, swim, ...). Have objectives (today i'll run 3 miles, by the and of May i'll run 5 miles, ...). When you'll see results you'll start to feel better .. a lot better! Trust me! Remember that 90% is mentally... and think positive!!

I stopped about 6 weeks ago and it was easy.

um, moth, hate to break it to you but you weren't a smoker.
- Bluejam0
i'm reading allan carr's book, albeit very slowly and usually with a cigarette in hand.
i'm giving myself till october to quit (i'm going to be a dad) after 18 years of smoking.

How many years does it take for your body to ween itself off of nicotine? I've been clean now since I took up martial arts in 2003 but still feel the urge for a toke every now and then especially when I'm pissed.

let's fuck!

I gave up for about 2 years, ended up subsituting it with full fat coca cola, turned into a mass of jelly. Thankfully I started again, and got back into prime condition... *cough
The ban comes over here in 10 weeks, no more smokeing in public places! guess Il stop again
- kezza_20
that's my thought Bullitt.
10 weeks of not being a social leper

I used to smoke when I was pubescent and easily influenced.
I started to hate the smell of it on me and my clothes. I'm now one of those bitter bastards that complains when someone smokes in a restaurant, philistines! Bring on the ban, I say.

(Apr 25 07, 01:55)I smoked, therefore I was a smoker.

i disagree. let's put it to the kind gentlefolk of this thread:
is three cigarettes a week enough to make moth a smoker?
- moth0
Where'd you get that figure from?
Why the fuck it bothers you that much anyway..

give er take, after 15 years your body is like that of a non smoker.
my biological grandmother got lung cancer and I got a call when I was about 14. i started smoking when I was near 18 and stopped when I was 22.
The longer you smoke the harder it is to stop. The dreams of me smoking have mostly stopped now too.
good luck all.

it's just obnoxious cos you're always saying how easy it is to quit and i think it's harder for people who smoke every day, that's all.

everyone is different, patch for some, cold turkey, strong wil(bs) and gum, or keeping busy, mine was running and playing futbol, it was gross afterwards, made it easier
- woodyBatts0
i quit cold turkey a little over a year ago, go excercise, it will boost your seratonin levels and you will stop feeling extremes or depression, irritation and anger.
also after working out, smoking is the last thing you wanna do.
