ok, why the FUCK would i pay some schmuck 15% the price of a wine bottle just for CARRYING a bottle of wine to me? how in any way does that take any skill or effort whatsoever?
meawnhile this site says to tip a car guy $2 for painstakingly unparking your car from some horrific parking garage.
and im supposed to pay $20 to a fucker for holding something that weighs less as much as a shoe across a room to me?

(Apr 18 07, 07:57)well if he's the one taking your dictation, you should probably not only refuse to give him money, but have him beheaded to boot.

You live in America, clearly, you can do whatever you want...

Just once I would like to see qruise post about something that makes him happy, if that's possible.

if a guy brings me a bottle of wine i will pay the bastard $2 at the most. if im in a shit ass part of town and some dude is sweating his balls off and just retrieved my car from a double parked nigthmare, ill give him $8.
- Rand0
is that your way of telling us you paid $125 for a bottle of wine?
- kelpie0
right, tipping is important.
this had me chuckling though:
"no less than 10% for poor service"
fuck off.
- Nairn0
I really don't get that about the States - imo, you should for what you ask for and leave the tip as a discretionary .. well.. 'tip'.
I mean, it's supposed to be a little extra - not something demanded.
- Nairn0
"you should PAY for what you ask for" I meant, clearly.
*pulls spacker face at self.

In Holland, it's considered rude to leave a tip...
Of course, the service is so bad, you'd never feel inclined to leave anything other than a steamer...
- paraselene0
it's a huge problem though, nairn, and not that simple.
minimum wage in the service industry varies from state to state. in many states, it needn't be anywhere near as high as minimum wage.
in louisiana for instance, it's less than half, so for people to survive, they desperately require tips.
it's all fucked up. sort of like the electoral college.
- paraselene0
that's probably why it's got a reputation as being rude, snuggs...

$1 for hailing a cab.
surely thats the easiest money in the world. $1 to raise ones arm in the air. $1 per cab, 4 cabs per minute, 240 cabs per hour, 9600 cabs a week, thats $499,200 per year.............
*quits job

fucking aye qruise
Never got this tipping malarky. I'm with the Japanese where its actually offensive to give someone a tip.
Other day i was at a fucking sushi bar - a conveyor belt self service SUSHI bar. And i WALK to the till to pay the bill, and like the frenchy dude there expecting me to pay a tip and he's like
"erm... where's there a problem with something? are you not completely satisfied?"
"i'm like, no no, mmm, it was delicious" and then walk out.
Fucking nerve to expect people to pay service charge in a self-service sushi bar.
oooh, makes my blood boil
- neue75_bold0
it's also factored into the cost and divvied up accordingly to the wait-staff at the end of the shift..
- CALLES0
it doesn't sound like you go out much... so even less go on an outting that includes wine... dont worry about it... ur in the clear
- jox0
Perhaps you should worry about tipping for alcohol when you're old enough to drink, little guy.
- blaw0
here's a tip... don't go out to dinner with qruise.
