well counted morilla, well counted, you have sharp eyes. You should think about joining the national guard.
- morilla0
they wont take me, I smoke weed and hate authority.

a lot of people may say it's impossible to control guns at this point, but at least, we should try. we can't just give up.
i wouldn't want this same thing to happen to my future kid and say, we didn't even try.

so now it's the "deadliest shooting incident in U.S. history".
they're trying to figure out how the gun-person got from one side of the campus all the way to the other and shot some people (while eluding police).
- morilla0
yeah, it seems a little odd.

we should have stricter gun laws. Innocent people going to school to learn shouldnt be killed.
Shits fucked up.

what a shame.
i think since 9/11, columbine and any other school shooting that has taken place since, it's more and more difficult for a person to get a gun. in california there is a waiting period to get a license, during that period you are subjected to a background check. after you aquire a license you then have to wait 10 days to buy any gun, meaning you apply to purchase a gun, you're checked again, then 10 days later if approved you get the gun.
unfortunately there is no nics cross check.
the problem is anyone owning a gun before the laws became stricter when it was much easier to get a gun and there wasn't a national/state-wide gun background check.
i wonder how many of these shootings in the u.s. were by a person who had recently bought a bunch of guns and ammo?
it would be wonderful if a system was set up that tracks the number of guns/ammo purchased over a given period of time and if you buy more than the whatever # of guns you're flagged.
currenlty like tkmeister said there is just no way to control anyone who has bought a gun from 5 years ago on. it would be impossible.
and for anyone saying it's easy to get a gun off the streets i dare you to try.
go ahead and drive to a shady area of town and start asking around to buy a gun. one of three things are going to happen.
1. you get shot
2. you get beaten
3. you get arrested by an undercover coplets be real here, none of us would know the first thing about going to a bad part of town and buying a gun off the street.
this is a horrible tragedy but quite frankly, this could happen anywhere at anytime, not just in the u.s.

this is very sad...
i loved my time at that school...
i walked the campus four years and it's not hard to get from one side to the other, briskly walking, in 8 minutes
there are also underground tunnels from the chemistry building to near the building where the majority of the shootings were at...i took them when it snowed to keep warm
all the buildings on the campus are made to look similar which makes it hard for non-students (and new students) to navigate, which might have impacted the lock down
also students were walking around taking pictures, looking, etc while the cops were running around with weapons...that just how college kids are...they do what they want not what they are told

so senseless
so random
so devastating
how can we continue to do these things to each other
I dont get it :(
- Jaline0
really? they're making it sound like it takes a lot longer to get to the other side.
they said the gunman knew exactly how to work the campus.
anyway, I was just wondering, since it takes like 10-15 min. to get to the other side of my campus/uni, and we have underground tunnels connecting nearly every building.

Maybe banning gun ownership completely would be the best way to go. You can only rent guns for hunting or whatever sane(?) reasons there are for owning a gun....
WORLDWIDE BAN OF GUNS. IF YOUR MAD FIGHT LIKE THE OLD DAYS.
or like this guy...
- 305artist0
"You rent guns for hunting or whatever sane(?) reasons there are for owning a gun...."
edit. We need a friggin editor on NT.
- Jaline0
I actually have a plugin for FF for spelling. It even underlines the incorrect things in iframes. Like this post...

"You -would only be able to- rent guns for hunting or whatever sane(?) reasons there are for owning a gun...."
edit 2. The brackets didnt work well with code. Anyways Im going back to work.
Rant over.

i don't want to get into the whole pro/anti gun thing, but does anyone ever ask why our society produces people who are so detached from humanity and obsessed with violence? we can go around and around the gun issue, but a person has to flip out FIRST and THEN pick up a gun. millions of people own guns and never do this.
so my question isn't about guns...but what is happening to our world that causes people to harm others in a clearly detached and insane way? shouldn't we ask this as well?

murder will always happen. Guns or no guns, it is part of nature.
