What is it with vegetarians that eat fish?
Does the size of an animal have a bearing on it's degree of 'suffering'?
Or you get strict vegies that gladly wear leather. They're like angels with dirty faces.
Personally, I'm a post-modernist vegetarian.
I eat meat, ironically.

be carefull
i was vegy\vegan for around 6 years and had to start eating fish. i couldn't hack it - didn't have enough energy, getting sick :(
i recomend easing yourself into it over a period of a few months
and if you can consult a doctor about it.

Vegetarian for a total of 8 years (but with a 1.5 year hickup in the middle). Vegan for 1 of those. I missed cheese too much - even though I eat soy cheese 80% of the time now. (normal cheese gives me massively oily skin)
&! I'm Canadian. Bacon & chicken wings are about the sickest things to me now bahah. Sorry Jaline.
No low energy, and workout 5 days a week.
But totally not for everyone. Some people just don't absorb protein well enough from certain things etc. But usually if you eat well, you're way more than fine.
All my stomach crap is gone that I had when I was a meat eater, but tell your grandma I can fart up a storm. So hot.

(Apr 14 07, 20:03)Ha! I was just mocking stereotypes when I made that comment. I actually agree with you about bacon being pretty gross most of the time. However, I think it tastes pretty damn good with an english muffin, an egg, and some cheese, so I just make sure to get rid of as much fat as possible from the sides of the bacon before eating it. I never eat it by itself either; I eat it with the combination above.
But I love chicken wings and wouldn't give that up...

I mean eggs, not lard in mayo, the condiment, not the nt'er.

but seriously read that article I posted up there ^
the one from the walrus - "Plants with Soul" - anyone who is interested in anthropology or shamanism or altered states of consciousness...
or journalism - it's a fine example of good journalism.
I guess it relates to this thread...
somehow. :)

srsly - I've had a similar experience to lvl_13 and Mimio.
I've never been a huge meat eater.
love fruits and veg. and breads.
and - well all good food. everything in moderation. i know. i know. lame. but true.
I used to cook - in restaurants - so at times I had to eat meat to taste test. that's when I went back to eating meat.
anyway - there is a good argument for both sides and to an extent both are right. most important thing is to be aware and conscious of what you're eating and where it comes from.

good for you. i am slowly moving into a veggie lifestyle myself as well.
i wonder if i can go all the way.
