So....I kept waking up in the middle of the night to feel my heart beating weirdly. It kind of pulsated randomly. It must've been something, since it was strong enough to wake me up repeatedly.
Maybe it was normal, except felt 10 times stronger than usual. Maybe I was just more aware of the beating? Not sure.
I also felt this before going to sleep last night (so much so that I didn't want to sleep early), and can still feel it a bit this morning.
I'm thinking I should get it checked out...

stress, maybe?

(Apr 12 07, 07:36)... Yes.
Perhaps you are just too excited about playoff hockey however, haha.

puberty?
sorry.

perhaps jaline I get this from time to time and it is quite normal :/ if a little unsettling is it like your heart is basically allot stronger and you can physically feel each beat?.. and sometimes it might sort of slow down then bang out a big beat then continue.....
I wouldn't say go to the docs just yet wait a little while see if it goes away without you thinking about it, I went to get myself checked once for this same reason and had to wear a monitor for 24 hours and I have an irregular heart beat nothing to shite it about, just walk about more try to get your heart working by doing more excercise nothing too mad perhaps a game of bball or a shag or two main thing is though don't worry too much as this can emphasise something quite benighn

have you ever had a panic/anxiety attack?

maybe it's growing!

it sounds a bit like mitral valve prolapse, jaline.

not a big deal at all, my mum and i both have it, but you should get a diagnosis. especially because if you ever get your teeth cleaned, you have to take antibiotics (don't ask me why, it's bizarre, but important).

nope, tad.

do you smoke cigarettes??
or drink alot of coffee??
- Jaline0
thanks so much, chossy and para.
You made my day much better :)

Jaline, for sure DO get it checked out, but it's most likely nothing.
Any change in diet, caffeine consumption, salt intake?
You didn't describe any symptoms that would make it sound like any kind of life threatening thing...
- Rand0
I've had that a lot, myself

(Apr 12 07, 07:52)don't do either
I should probably exercise more, but I don't eat horribly or anything.
No real change in diet either.
I did have some hot sauce yesterday though, heh.

(Apr 12 07, 07:42)that's exactly how it's like

brian, don't think it's stress.
I have a few exams coming up, but I never get too worried about things.
Maybe I should let it all out and stop keeping feelings on the inside, although NT is quite a nice outlet for that. And judging by my post count, I do that enough.
- chossy0
yeah don't worry about it jaline but if it is like this all the time then do go to the docs mine normally passes in a day or even it just goes away when at some point and I don't realise it.
One thing the doctors said to me was that chocolate can affect it!! have you been naughty and had a big lump of easter eggs, mind you your not a pagan so you haynae get easter eggs yo!.

3 years ago I had an episode where it felt like my chest was tightning up and this weird burst of energy shot through my body from head to toe and feeling this made me panic and my heart raced like never before .... it was such a scary moment . I thought it might have been having a heart attack. I thought this was the end of me....
We were on our way to Panama City Beach for Memorial Day Weekend too .... so that pretty much sucked ... Had my friends take to the local hospital
they ran all kinds of test on me .. blood test .. EKG ... found nothing .. they told me it was likely caused by high nicotine & caffeine consumptionI was a heavy cigarette smoker & coffee drinker .... I quit smoking that day .... almost 3 years now ...
I have'nt felt that same thing since

yeah, I was too afraid to go to sleep last night...once I drifted off I still woke up every 3 hours b/c of the sensations.
