I don’t know if this has already been posted on here, but as Quitely is now on Twitter, it seems like a good moment to post this video. It’s an episode of ‘What Artists Do All Day’:
- great vidfadein11
- Yes, I think it was posted before, bit it deserved it!!OBBTKN
- Such a good vid. My friend watched it and said 'Why would anyone want to be a comic artist after that? His life seems like hell!'PhanLo
- This is great, thanks!Nairn
- @phanlo - someone doesn't understand the whole 'torture artist' schtick :)
If I was this guy, this is totally how I'd live.
I'm just a talentless hack though.Nairn - I've spent my entire life slightly envious of people who can actually sit still for long enough and Just Fucking Draw.
Shit takes time.Nairn - lol, *tortureD artist!
Artists torture themselves. There's no need for 2nd or 3rd party involvement.Nairn - I will always be astounded by people that can draw some incredibly from their imaginationBaskerviIle

- Yeah, I got this three book set.
Think I bought it at a comics fair in London, late 80s - had seen this story in an Italian edition of Heavy Metal ...Bluejam - ... unable to read italian, had no idea what was going on. Remember being blown away after properly reading it.Bluejam
- The Akira editions were also very good but at the time, incredibly difficult to get hold of - was like a 40+ set of books and Forbidden Planet ...Bluejam
- ... had very limited stocks.Bluejam
- Yeah, I got this three book set.

- Love itpinkfloyd
- I wish I'd read Halo Jones as a kid, it influenced a lot of artists I was into, just think I was a bit too young or missed it for some reason.PhanLo
- @Phanlo ... you can still buy it https://shop.2000ad.…
... looks a bit archaic now but the storyline / characters were way ahead of it's timeBluejam - The barber my folks took me to as a kid had 2000AD, like 40 years ago. Never stopped reading it. Just got the new version of The Apocalypse War. Still amazing.face_melter
- Although Rogue Trooper will always be my favourite. Cam's artwork remains incredible.face_melter
- Yeah, Cam & Fort Neuro storyline was one of the better Rogue Trooper moments although I think I prefered Colin Wilson's artwork ...Bluejam

Spiral into Horror
aka Uzumaki
-Junji ItoHas anyone mentioned this one yet? Read the whole series in one sitting. Lovecraft, in manga form. As an artist/writer property, it's stunning. It's immature at times, and absurd, but it's never not interesting. The detail in the art is the real hero of this story. It's sad, it's weird, it's very Japanese, and I loved it.

- He uses pretty much anything - lots of pen and ink, pencil, airbrush. A particular favourite of mine is his b/w work on ABC Warriors.face_melter
- DC cut ties with Biz over this cover. Cuz of sneaking in a penis elbow12xu

- Or guachescarabin
- The Judgment on Gotham I bought in my teens was nicked, as was its replacement in my twenties. I should buy it again.
Bisley was my God.Nairn - @face, I loved ABC Warriors.
@nairn, the amount of graphic novels and books I lent to 'friends' who frequented my flat in my 'wild years' and never got back...fadein11 - Had two copies of this fucker stolen too..Nairn

- @Nairn Same here, was total fan of him in design school. Now I am slowly restocking my collection after I sold it.fisheye
