Hey crew - wondering if anyone might be able to help track down a comic for mid 2000s...
The only info I have is that it was a shorter series - maybe 10-15 books (could be a few more but I don't think it went on too long(
The style was a direct homage to Jack Kirby
And the story was in the vein of Fantastic four.
Lastly - I believe it was IMAGE comics...
For the life of me I can't recall the title, so any help would be wonderful if these notes ring a bell...
Thanks so much!
- Had a quick look.
Could it be Youngblood?
Stormwatch? CyberForce?
WildC.A.T.S?PhanLo - Thanks Phan, those were all top shelf, but the one I’m trying to locate was more on the rare side. It was drawn in Jack Kirby style as an homage I believe.antimotion
- I really liked Spawn when I was younger, but I didn't get too deep into Image back then.
It seems a hard one to search for.
Anything Kirby is cool :-)PhanLo - Yeah, loved that early crew - if I can rattle my memory banks, I'll drop the book here. Thanks for taking time on it!antimotion
- FOUND IT!
GODLAND by Joe Casey and Tom Scioli.

- Why does he have to care for the environment, sucking dick isn't gay enough?palimpsest
- His bf even has purple hair!NBQ00

to be fair, when you think about it, Superman was pretty gay all along. Super fit, chiseled looks, lived alone in a minimalistic apartment with crystals everywhere, avoided Lois at all costs, had a secret he didn't want anyone to know about, was super clean and meticulous.
The clues were all there! lol

- Not viewable online but they are downloadable https://www.zipcomic…PhanLo
- I love this style, not wasteful, every line and block of ink serves purpose, no unnecessary noise and fluff, almost minimalistic_niko

- Yeah Wolfboy! I only found out about his work a few years back, I couldn't believe I'd never seen it before as it was so incredible.PhanLo
- I heard about him through a podcast and multiple comic artists I liked said they referenced him growing up, so I looked out his work.PhanLo
- His watercolour and ink work is also really beautiful.PhanLo

'Most of this story is just one long, ultra-violent encounter and this is the over-the-top ending of it all. This single page is very arresting and is still and non-kinetic as the story gets. I would describe the art style as Geof Darrow except not as good.(Heavy Metal #249, September 2010 – Page 108 Fluorescent Black: Part 3 by Wilson, Fox, Cox, Konot and Robinson)'
