My first foray into print design.
I'm struggling with the colour.
Your thoughts on the logo would be good too.

is that even 3.5x2?
just print hem all, they're the same thing

*them

He was asking for help with the colours version, not the layout.
Don't like any of them Mike. Go to bed. Try again tomorrow.

overeasy there skt, overeasy now

You need a typeface with more personality for the mark letters man

why not do the 7 in foil and everything esle in black...

Personally, I would use a lighter blue. Something that will ignite in combination with the black. Right now, at least to me, it muds the two colors.
Like the design though. Simple and interesting.

I'm not one for bigging up job titles too much and i feel your colour scheme does just that.
It's also a touch bland and your details a touch wee.

You're harsh critics.
Not bad for a first card though huh? huh?I'll work on these over the weekend.

moth,
i really like those...
nice work.

does it actually have black around it or have you just put that there so we can see the card? cos i think that changes the way we are looking at it quite a lot, makes it bolder in a retro 90s kinda way, might be a bit boring without.
foil's a good idea, or spot varnish. do you def want white card? black / recycled card might help it.

i like the layout, simple, bold, i'd be impressed if someone put one of those cards in my hand :)
(i prefer the first blue colour scheme)
- moth0
No, no black around it Vespa.
I was thinking some uncoated stock - something with some texture.

Foil.... Wont that be a tad expensive? I'm not sure I like foil block though.. seems a little 1980's.

the first thing I thought to do was do the 7 in foil?
I think its because its an ordinary design, so it needs something to pick it up and be noticable?

fair enough..

num 2 for me with the colour in a metallic

I like the mushy green colour for the highlight.
I suppose it depends what feel you're going for. At the moment it looks professional and trustworthy but it also looks like a lot of other cards I've seen. I'm not sure adding a foil is really going to add that much expect for added cost.
sometimes looking to print processes isn't the way to raise a piece of design. Although if I were going down that route I'd save money on inks and do a nice diecut.

hey man, hope you don't think i was needlessly harshing - i don't think it looks that bad and am tempted to agree with Vespa that it's hard to get a feel for how the card'll actually sit when it's plonked onto that black background.
One question - what does Pitch7 actually do? Have you considered 'Pitching' your logo at all? (coming from the guy who spent 4 years angling EVERYTHING by 3 degrees - I love that shit, it's so controversial :)

I like the die-cut idea - cut off an angled strip from the top, make it look pitched. The beauty of this is it makes a great angled powder-shuffling device for your clients, who are all doubtlessly a bunch of coked-up media-whores.
I've no idea whether I'm being serious or not.
