1gb aint shit now, I just recently bought my first dvd burner just for backups and things. and started converting xvids and burning them to dvd and it works great and takes about an hour from start to finish. I don't even have a dvd player on my tv anymore, gave it to my mom.
The d-link medialounge plays xvids wirelessly. It is like apple tv minus HD. They have a model that plays hd and you don't need to use iTunes and you can hack the shit out of the software to make it play quicktime and wmv, mpeg4 etc.
this software that works for the d-link called tversity, while ugly, is incredible, cnn and bbc news feeds, works with podcasts and vidcasts thru rss, really cool, I learned a ton if shit about networking just getting stoned and playing with it.

You can hold your breath for every new bit of technology that might come out sometime. Or you can buy what is available now and either upgrade it when it is available OR buy an external blu ray disc drive, which is what I plan to do.

What does it matter? As soon as the Blu Ray 4 comes out and i've converted everything to Blu Nutz then the Red Laser 6 will be out and Mac will be upgrading from intel to C64 chips and Rosetta will be obsolete because the G5s will be upgraded to i1s and you will need 8GB of Ram to sync up with your iPhone which will only accept HD memory sticks and they will have upgraded the pixel technology to see new colors in the rainbow so we will have to upgrade our eyeballs and apple will have to rip out our eyeballs and transplant them with the iBallz and we will see from our nutz forever only apple.
