yeah, a lot of it is by hand i think.
i've seen this done on paper, then scanned in, which kind of makes sense - at least for the initial layout.
if you give it a go - please post your results and technique!

sure will do, i am only a college student tho, but im going to give it a go, just wish i had more time, kinda left it till last few days and its the weekend!

Si uses pen & paper, which is then usually scanned into photoshop iirc.
Does it at super high res, so you can scale down and things will look nice and crisp.
hope that helps!

si scott's work is beautiful. I read somewhere that most of his stuff is hand drawn, then scaled. let us know how it worked out and post pics!

I think i'd do a range of hand drawn pencil and ink details at large size, then scan and clean up in Illy. get your base vectors and multiply and resize the scanned details as you wish.
but then, i'm just babbling.

Yeah, they did a column on him in the last comp arts, apparently he does the initial design with fine liners, then scans in.

Not exactly related to this thread but is Si's website made with frames?
I'm a noob when it comes to webpages, and i'm making a new one for myself. My old one was made with frames and it was done rather quickly and crudely. I made it after doing some tuts in Dreamweaver. I've read that frames are bad and see the reasoning, so i'm trying to learn how to do it properly. Any suggestions?
