  My computer suddenly began talking to me, telling me what apps I'm currently in, what keys I'm hitting, what tools I have selected...
  I have no idea how this started happening, but how do I stop it????
  system prefs all say these things are turned off.

  haha, i thought i was the only one! every once and awhile my computer will say, "there is no text to speak" or some shit.

  I once accidentally turned on a higher screen contrast with the keyboard shortcut (cmnd option ^ .). The Mac was new to me at the time and it probably took two weeks for me to figure the damn problem out.
