  So anyone else get up early and pick up a Wii before they all sold out? Broadway/Houston Best Buy sold out before they even opened.

  well, on this point we shall have to differ. though i suppose the global level of profligate consumption driven by nintendo et al is ultimately vastly more wasteful than the symbolic wrecking of a single unit, in front of some sleep-deprived fanboys.

  So they're just wasting other people's money? Great.

  And if it's clever, why do they do the same thing for all of the different products. Wouldn't it just have been clever the first time?

  And btw there hasn't been anything like this consol before. PS3 and XBox are as much a bore as Moneycide is. If you're interested in interactive development even in the slightest, the Wii's input devices make it more than just another console.

  although the original concept of "smash my______" was clever, the videos are very anti-climatic and the guy doing the smashing of said product looks like that typical art-nerd-lookatMeTryingToBeFunny… and over and over and over. hence, rendering pointless.

  anyway, the wii looks cool. i'm not a really a game guy but i'm sure it would be a blast. have fun enjine! invite over your friends and battle, just don't break shit in your place : )

  yeah e-, i play a few games when i'm not super busy, but i couldn't pass this thing up. i found a place where you can order hardware to connect to a pc or mac and get x, y, z axis and tilt data... like the wii controlers. i plan on writing some visualizations for it and figured it would be cool to see what nintendo has done with the technology first.

  japan is going to be amazing... it's fucking awesome yr going to be hooked up while yr there too.

  the monitor is flipped vertically like that because of the nvidia software drivers i use. i'd imagine a mac could do it too, but i don't know. i keep one horizontal for browsing and photoshop/illustrator and one monitor vertical for reading and coding. it's a great setup.
