shooting digital infrared??

has anyone done it? i just picked up some infrared film this weekend for my manual camera and it was so damn expensive! so not sure why it never crossed my mind, but has anyone shot any digital infrared (i have the canon 20d) and was thinking of trying it.
please forgive me if i sound like i have no clue what i am asking for or talking about...because i don't! but what sort of filters would i need to invest in to achieve this?
any help is appreciated!

you can modify your 20D to see infrared, and shoot that way, but it can't easily be changed back.. do a searchy for digital infrared and see what comes up.. on my searches, all i have seen are the sensor modifications.. never seen an infrared filter or anything else like that for digital.

shit, was afraid of that. thanks for the info carty, i'll search around. i'm pretty weary going and messing with the sensor though. i'd surely screw something up : )
