saw it last night.
best movie I have seen in like 5 years. so real... really affected me afterwards.
anyone else seen it? thoughts?

How did it affect you? This is one of those movies where I saw the trailer but wasn't really sold. Sell me!

its a movie set in about 20 years time. what affected me was that the world looked so similar to now. only slightly more dictative gov'ts. slightly more chaos etc. hard to explain, but this is DEF one of the best movies of the last few years. im not good at selling anything, so best view the trailer/read some reviews, or go see it yourself and make up your own mind :)

yeah me too, i though too many "seen it before" ideas in the trailer.

They make it look too much like an action film. It's more complex than that, although there loads of 'action sequences' to keep the (children of) Men happy.

There are some shots in it which are incredible. one take shots which i just cant work out - like the scene in the car (you'll know what i mean if you seen it) - overall its a good film but i reckon its these shots that make it. It ends a bit abruptly.

Fiat Multipla: The best car for filming this type of scenes...
Nice film

add this alongside 28 days later and v for vendetta and it's a good trilogy of 'england goes to shit' vibe type films

I can't wait to see it, I am currently munching my way through a comic about there only being one dude left on the planet called 'Y the last man' and it is fabulos simply the best comic I have read in ages. So for me I'm hoping for great things in this film. Plus I like the cast.

Fairly average response to the film from critics....

i don't need action sequences to keep my attention up. i do need a good, impressive story that makes you think it over afterwards.
i will check that trailer later, can't do it here.. cheers.

I saw it about 3 weeks ago, first time in a long time I've been to the cinema, and I have to say I thought it was shit.
nice idea, but the timeline of the film was rediculous. The ending was shit too.
There are some really truely amazing scenes like in the block of flats when the soldiers are shooting and they walk out with the baby, but the way they the film was cut together made it a disappointing experience.
To do the story justice it needed to be 3 hours ( a similar film could be IA) as opposed to 90 mins. the BBC do longer Dr Who specials.
2 pence.

it's in theatres in the Netherlands now... really good and impressive movie!

you mean that one with the mad max kinda plot?

Ditto on the realism.. The first scene with the blast got me straight away + I thought Michal Caine's character was fantastic.
Nice homage to Die hard too - with the no shoes thing..
Great film.
