nice concept. not a very strong logo. it's okay.
i hate the way the T is almost touching the O.

That idea is so done. By every low-end photocopier.

The 1970's punk movement called..they want their logo back...

Really bad....

please, show me what you would have designed. and for fucks sake, don't even dare thinking about the circle of stars.
if you have the guts to not just criticize this but simply take it down in 3 words, well, you must be a fucking genius, as i am sure you'd have some brilliant other alternatives.
oh, and no cheating, lay down that fucking copy of loslogos, as we have seen enough fancy meaningless shapes being ripped off and shamefully applied for the last couple of years.

i'd love to see the 10 finalists chosen by the design jury around erik spiekermann.
i read sth like they chose the 10 finalists, suggest the 3 best and some eu guys select the winner.

Crouwel, man, it's just bad. I don't need to create something to show you what i would've done to justify my opinion that that is one ugly logo. It's not even legible..I know it says "together" but I keep seeing:
"ToG ether (a registered trademark)"
And that makes me wonder why I should tog Ether, what togging is and would Ether enjoy being togged and who in their right mind would trademark it. And why has togging Ether been around since 1957?

so, well done.
(even though i do think the classic serif used in "since 1957" is a bit too much..)
Crouwel, thanks for saying something. It may not be like the rest, but the important thing here is it conveyed something better than the remaining pieces, a unity. and sometimes sometimes the latest, most billiantly kerned typelogo just doesn't cut it.Antonelli, I agree on the kerning problem with the T and the ö. There are some slight problems with the spacing and the varying baseline. but i have seen worse: didn't fit the bill conceptually.
anyway, works in my book.

people forget it is an anniversary logo. not a corporate or instituational logo.
for this reason the polish guy hit the nail on it's head imho.

you guys have to chill. The logo isn't brilian but apparently it was indeed the best they have received. So instead of bitching that a guy who instead of getting drunk with the best vodka ever spent an evening or 2 trying to enter a competition you gous should applaud as he's a doer rather then sitter-on-his-ass...

(Oct 21 06, 20:29)....and bitch about logo's without trying to put the concept in perspective and ignoring the applaudable intentions of a student.

Q. Why don't polish women use vibrators?
A. It chips their teeth.

sorry, that was supposed to be a "thumbs-up" ascii. it looks like the coding here removes the first space in a line....
