font looks different in mac/pc

ive coded this website and funny thing is the fonts looks different on a mac and pc.
is this a css problem and can it be fixed?

i doubt the gill tag will get read, best to lose that as well.

if you start with 62.5%, that is pretty close to 10px on most computers.
If you want everything to look exactly the same (and not use px) then use 76% and nothing smaller.
There is some site where a guy took screeshots of all the different %'s and such.
The only reason to not use px is if you want users of IE to be able to resize the text of the site.
I usually start with 62.5%.

use ems, and there is a hack to keep it the same more or less regardless of platform, i just can't find the link at the moment.
