Sue him, win the minivan in court, then explode it in a field somewhere. That'll make you feel better.

I will call the detective later, but I think the guy was drunk off the beach or the marina and bailed to avoid a DUI.
When I was able to get up there was a BMW shitting there shocked and i pointed for him to chase the van. I guess he caught him and called it in. They're supposed to be picking up the driver and throwing him in jail either yesterday or today.
I wonder how much time he'll get. I hope at least 30 days -- but who knows maybe more? For all he knew, he left us for dead. It looked and sounded much worse than we turned out. Not many movie stunt bike accidents could look better.
What do you guys think about going to his insurance (if he has any)? He didn't care enough to stop so i figure if im going to be in pain for a bit i might as well be compensated. I might have felt differently if he had stopped.

Dman Salisae, that sounds unreal! When stuff like that happens, I wish more people would check their own driving and pay more attention.
I hope his hands are okay. It's too bad about his legs, but as an artist I couldn't imagine losing use of my hands, too. Damn.
When my sister called me, I was tripping on the "I could have been killed" tip. It was pretty dramatic, but she was right in saying, "It could have been worse than dead."

excellent note, shellie. his hands are fine.
- radar0
you should definitely be compensated ontop of damages - especially in a hit&run situation
- robotron3k0
thank goodness your okay!
- shellie0
thats what I was thinking radar. If he has insurance, then sure. If he doesn't, my current hospital bill and some jail time will be enough for me. Fighting someone with no money is a waste of time and energy.
