So, I was involved in a pretty gnar biking accident on Saturday leaving the beach. I was in the bike lane about 2 feet from a friend of mine, and a minivan swirved into our lane and hit her. I had to bail out of my bike, threw it down and launched the other direction to avoid going under a car or over her. I can't believe the both of us walked away from that in only a few pieces. I'm pretty okay and was prescribed a gang of pain killers, and she got 4 staples to the head.
I'm going to rename my bike:
wow, glad everyone is ok.
Geez oh man, glad to hear you're both alrite for the most part.
Any reasoning behind why the minivan swerved into the bike lane in the first place?
yikes. glad you are both ok.
glad you guys are ok.
fucking bike lanes are never safe.
wow--chalk one up for your protecting angels!
someone was working at a tattoo parlor the other day and a car came crashing through the window and pinned him up against the wall smashing all the bones in his legs. he has to get them both amputated. :/ there's a fund raising show for him this weekend.
i've been looking both ways a lot more lately.
glad you're all right
even beach cruisers at 3mph things can be exciting!
all you need now is a tattoo
man stupid mini van!!! did you tell em off?
ouch, that sucks :(
glad you are ok, shellie!
damn - glad u and ur friend are not badly hurt.
I will call the detective later, but I think the guy was drunk off the beach or the marina and bailed to avoid a DUI.
When I was able to get up there was a BMW shitting there shocked and i pointed for him to chase the van. I guess he caught him and called it in. They're supposed to be picking up the driver and throwing him in jail either yesterday or today.
I wonder how much time he'll get. I hope at least 30 days -- but who knows maybe more? For all he knew, he left us for dead. It looked and sounded much worse than we turned out. Not many movie stunt bike accidents could look better.
What do you guys think about going to his insurance (if he has any)? He didn't care enough to stop so i figure if im going to be in pain for a bit i might as well be compensated. I might have felt differently if he had stopped.
sue his ass seabass
Dman Salisae, that sounds unreal! When stuff like that happens, I wish more people would check their own driving and pay more attention.
I hope his hands are okay. It's too bad about his legs, but as an artist I couldn't imagine losing use of my hands, too. Damn.
When my sister called me, I was tripping on the "I could have been killed" tip. It was pretty dramatic, but she was right in saying, "It could have been worse than dead."
I'm :) that you're fine.
i wonder if the texas hammer came before the kentucky hammer darryl issaacs.... or its probably another package law commercial.
excellent note, shellie. his hands are fine.
